Laying down QQ

I was playing in a $500 buy-in live tourney with 40 min rounds and a 15k starting stack. The blinds were 200/400 with a 50 ante and I had run my stack up to about 29k when this hand came up. Button opens to 1100 and SB who hadn't 3 bet all day but had called a few raises, 3 bets to 2500. I wake up with QQ in BB and call as does the button. The flop comes down Jd8h3s and SB leads for 4k. I call and button calls as well. Turn is 5d and SB shoves for 14k. I fold and button fold.

I think I made a good lay down but I wonder if I should have 4bet pre or made some sort of aggressive move to find out more info. Thoughts?????

Re: Laying down QQ

i think you should have definitely 4bet pre since you're way ahead of his 3bet range. plus btn is still left to act and if you call, its more enticing for him to call and you're out of position against him.

Re: Laying down QQ

Yeah I generally don't like cold 4-betting QQ for like 50bbs if villain is old/nitty in live mtt's and so if that is your read on him I guess the way you played it is okay... If you have any feelings/reads that he could be doing this light/wide I guess 4-betting is alright.
