Villians stats were 50% vpip 9%PFR, i had opened about 6 of the past 15 hands and he flatted every one except one where he timed out. He fired almost every time when checked to him postflop, and called every cbet, folding to double barrels though. So it's safe to say he was pretty aggro postflop.

I have 14k and make it 1550 from button with 9s9c
sb with 4500 folds
villian, in bb with 18k, flats
flop is 8c5d8h, ~4500 pot, he checks i bet 2115, he jams

If he's that big of a fish as it seems I'd shrugcall. We only need around 33% if I'm not mistaken, 8x can be somewhat discounted as he might not shove and he can certainly show up w hands like 77

Bet less on flop. Fold now. If he went nuts with 5xXx then good for him. I'm not putting in 40bbs more with 99 in this spot against what looks to be a pretty passive bad player.

I wouldnt agree with panny. We shouldnt calculate that we have enough equity to call liek this, because we have solid 55 bb stacks and we dont want to have 33 % in general or even 40% to call. We want to be in good shape, as we are pretty deep. But in this particular hand he's repping thin.

I calculate it on EQUILAB. Even if we give every 8x kombo, I mean full every 8x kombo, KK+ then lower pairs 5x etc we have 44% of equity and i'm not sure if we would shove 8x in this particular spot, I dont think he is that balanced. So u have 44% against worst case scenario range, which is really good. It's an easy easy call, not even CLOSE.

I check or bet smaller on flop.

I fold 99 here if we haven't seen villain make a similar move before and because I don't think we can discount TT+ being in villain's range based on info given.

I 100% believe he was capable of doing the same play with 5x,66 or 77. I didn't really think he'd shove an 8 and it was a decent amount of bb's to risk in a soft tournament, but i couldn't find a fold against him and he had TT, unfortunately.

interesting spot. Nice to see a fellow ignition player tbh. I think I'm folding here. Very easy he has TT JJ QQ KK AA here. He flats hoping to see a good board and he got that so he check jams hoping you pay him off with your overcards and smaller pairs. I don't see him jamming an 8 here honestly. So if you don't think TT-AA is in his range then I'd snap it
