cbet is small but i can't see this being a great board for villains overall range so don't need to bet big to get many folds but maybe this induced the shove?

should we just check it instead?

Don't think we're getting called by any worse on this flop, also don't think we're folding out any queens at all, especially KQ. Prefer checking back personally and hoping to see a showdown or catching a bluff on the river and so we don't get put in this spot.

Why would you bet such a flop, OP?

If you can't get 3 streets of value, then don't bet pairs is a great rule generally.

I like the isosize preflop. Would go ~700 vs a bigger stack.
I don't understand the flop bet with this SPR. He is committed with alot of his combos and you block the combos you could barrel him off.

700-800 pre, check the flop. As played, Ez fold. Cbet something that's absolute trash (i.e. 68s) and something that you're trying to get value with and will bet/call, but not the hands in between that still have a lot of equity.

Yeah JJ seems like one of the hands we should be checking on this board.

When deciding to c-bet you always have to figure out what part of the villain's likely range is going to continue on that board and how you match up against that range. With third pair and a gutshot, which is what you have, you are absolutely smashed to even random limpy hands like QTo or Ax. In these cases use the power of position to take a free card and see what develops on the turn.

Btw, how often do you think the villain bets his bluff range in a blank turn and how do you react?

Probably not often, he just limp called pre so he's clearly not good. I'd just fold to anything half pot or bigger if the turn is anything but a K, J or it paired the board.
