Hello. I'm not sure if this is the right sub-forum, but I have a question about analysis on MTTs. Big swings happens regularly (yes, we only notice that in downswings). What kind analysis you do besides usal study? I'm talking about numbers.

I saw in my HM1 the tourney reports and I'm thinking if BB/100 is not a good reference to us. What do you think?

Like, if we are winning in different positions or not. I'm not talking about saying "oh, or ev is better so we are in a downswing" but see that and think, "I win in every position, I can improve there and there, but I'm comfortable to say that I beat this field if it was cash".

Notes: I know "$ winnings" is fake, but bb/100 seems reasonable, no?

bb/100 can be used with some additional filters to check your results(profit) in some certain spots.
For example, how profitable you play pocket pairs at some certain depths (blind levels) in 3bet pots.
Such statistics can be useful I guess, but yet it doesn`t help to improve your game, just smth which might point at spots to apply more efforts.

ROI is used to determine profitability in tournaments.

I mean if we can considerate (not to improve) for see if we are playing worst "cash wise" or it's just a natural swing in MTTs (besides swings on spots).

Example of what we can't see: we go all-in 100 times and we are 51% favorite and we win 51%. This don't means much in MTTs results because we can be winning or loosing besides that. And that thing we can take any consideration, right?

But we can see in general if we are winning spots in general, no?

It's pretty useful. If your bb/100 is high, you are likely more skilled than your opponents, this means your overall expected win-rate should be higher. Players with higher win-rates experience less variance in theory.

Do you know usual number? I know it's more important by effective stacks, but it's possible to know differents "bb winrates" from various players?
