I am a midstakes online 6 max NLHE cash game player that plays some live tourneys from time to time.

Live EUR 300 BI tourney, middle stages (not close to the money).
Blinds 500 - 1000 - 100
AVG: 45.000
8 handed
1st orbit at a new table.
VI: Solid regular with some big wins (he doesn't know me)
VII: Regular, fishy player

BTN: V - 60.000
SB: Hero - 47.000
BB: VII - 75.000

Hand: KQ

Pre: BTN opens to 2.200, Hero calls, BB folds
Reasoning: Could go for a 3-bet but high equity hand that plays well post even oop and calling encourages fishy BB to overcall

Flop: TJ4

Hero checks, BTN C-bets 3.300, Hero raises to 9.300, BTN raises to 21.000, Hero jams.
Reasoning initial raise: Great flop for me which gives me a lot of equity against all the hands in his range (+/- 30/70 worst case scenario), could go for a call but by taking over the betting lead I can improve or double barrel on almost all turns and put him in a tough spot

Reasoning jam: When he 3bets I put him on a range like AJ, JJ, TT, 44, QQ~AA for value and 89s, 9Q, QK for bluffs which should give me enough equity to jam even if he calls his entire range (which I don't think is the case

Thoughts?

In position, I'm more inclined to just call with my strong draws. When you raise, you open yourself up to get 3bet which negates your positional advantage.

Agreed, but in this case I am in the SB.

My sincere apologies! I'm on my phone, and struggle to read at the best of times! Ok the above I believe is true as a concept, but is not applicable here.

In the SB, you probably want to do a bit of x/c and x/r. As played, I'd shrug get it in and not feel too happy about it.

Cheers, it felt a bit spewy after the hand but I guess I am still okay with it.

It's nice to have a x/r range on boards like this. It's also helpful that you have backdoor spades for a little bit of extra equity when you GII.

What value hands do we play this way? JTss maybe 44(doubtful we flat this pre)? TT and JJ are 3-betting pre(I hope). I don't really like having a raising range when we can only credibly rep 1, maybe 2 value hands.

I'd rather just call flop and play a turn, but maybe that's too passive.
