PS... somehow my laptop survived ☺
The ****ty thing about poker is that instead of winning 23 flips in a row in response, you will balance out your long run of bad luck in a single amazing hand - flopping the nut straight that turns into a nut flush ott and royal flush otr.

this one astonishingly unlikely hand cancels out your 23 lost flips in one amazing flurry of positive variance and you're back to square again. variance doesn't care that you only picked up the blinds against a single nit holding 6-high.

This happened to me 2 nights ago, AA at the same time, lost both one to KK (hit quads) and to 99

Yes OP it seems you should be working on your game... I would suggest starting up a Online Poker account and playing 1k min mtt's... Watch some twitch streams of tonka or polk or anyone who plays mtt's for a living at this stage... Learn from them and incorporate that into your game... Study push fold charts/ learn hand ranges / ICM / really get comfortable with knowing how to play 15 to 30 bb stacks... There is endless things for you to learn at this stage to give you a real edge...

Just because someone opens 55 from UTG does not mean you have an edge lol

Online is how you really improve your game in mtts... So you must do this

A 50 percent cash rate is a ridiculous statement.. . You have no edge on this field and you're a big dog tbh reading your posts in this thread and its fine... Lucky you for there is tons of ways nowadays to get better

Also Phil Ivey level poker is pretty 2010ish

By not cashing a few live mtt's you have no clue what pain is and running card dead..

Just play for fun. Grinding mtts suck!
If you actually take it serious work on your fundamentals and the math behind poker. Lots of people tilt way too easy

I love this thread. And don't you dare give up op... You must punish these fish cakes.

Op read luckynuts last post and google and check out his suggestions. You came here looking for explanations and that post will show you the way... For free, and it's fun content you'll enjoy. Don't mind all the social ******s in here who forget that not everyone's been grinding online since 2005; this forum is still gold for anyone interested in poker.

The structure of your tournament is not good but if the field is weak with a little improvement you should do well over time. FYI I have a plus 100% roi on bovada mtt's and recently went through a 30 tournament cashless streak and that's not the first or last time and it's standard. Being a good tournament player is not as glamorous as it looks on tv and requires a good deal of resilience. And lastly, one thing people are right about in here, is that you might be a natural and have all the potential in the world, but in the little detail you've offered, you're not a very good player yet and there's a lot you can improve on; if you can't honestly self evaluate yourself and take advice from more experienced players, jerks or not, you're doomed to mediocrity. Again check out luckys post its golden, especially the twitch suggestions, and gl in your drooler tournament.

no ^

we give a free 'out' too often to poor OPs by proposing that they were trolling imo/ime

but this was not trolling. sad truth is that trolls are rarely so elaborate, nor are they so intricately constructed, as to entertain the MSMTT genii sufficiently as to posit that this was an intentional troll.

the sad truth is that OP is a dolt, his protests too heartfelt, his beats too bad, his travesties too familiar, for us to elevate this to 'troll' level.

by some astonishing coincidence, however, MSMTT needed Larry. so OP got posts, and we got Larry.
