I do not think you can fold once you bet the turn. You should check the turn for balance. The villain let you hang yourself or knew you had either AA, KK or QQ.

^ was just about to say--i prefer checking the turn here for a couple of reasons, one being that it allows us to call most river bets, should villain choose to bet, on the vast majority of rivers

edit: and it protects the weaker parts of our check back range here as ace said

I also like checking back turn to call river bet playing it this way lets villain bet his weaker hands
