Very quick one. We're 25 players off the money in the Big $55 with 17k @ 350/700 and an average of around 21k. Image is good.

Folds to you on button with KJ

Sb is a nit with 8k
Bb is LAG with 41k

WDYD?

1. Min open / fold to a 3bet
2. Open Jam
3. Limp

Sure there are other options but these 3 seem most realistic. Just having a debate with friend and wanted to get a show of hands... 1,2 or 3? Ty

I would prioritize my actions in this order:

first - Min open /fold to 3bet (U have abt 24bbs)
second - Open jam (Ako, aks, jj-AAss will deff call) (rest folds)
third - Limp ( worst limp eva w this hand ) (This might be my last option)

Make it 1775 and fold to BB all in. So option 1

I think std here would be r/f. But i think BB will shove a lot here.

What about limp? I never do this, but i've seen a lot lately and its quite confusing at these stages. I think it looks stronger from BB eyes.

Thoughts?

Raise folding narrowly beats limping in this spot because even an aggro bb who has us covered defo has a wider range of shoving hands that are at least flipping against us so raise-caling is spewy even if we think he shoves it wide, how often are we gonna see K10?
Limping doesn't really LOOK stronger imo, because with this stack a click is almost asking to be shoved on, however, we might get a little value out of weaker Js and Ks. If you have history with the player and he hasn't seen you limp in this spot before then maybe we can limp here otherwise no.
Jamming never n option tbh. You're risking chunks of bigs pre bubble to win like 2 bigs

Raise fold to both players u said the player with 12 bigs is super nitty so when he piles ur always dominated mabe flipping I feel it's still to far away from the bubble for the aggro player to see 94o and just rip on u I don't think this is much of a decision raise fold is easily the best play

R/f but I don't mind a limp if BB is really laggy and gonna def every BB. Raising doesn't achieve much in that case apart from ISO the BB.

Open button, call sb jam, and options will obv vary with the bb depending on his action and his aggro factor. Against an aggro opponent with a big stack, you can probably 4b/jam since he will probably be applying max pressure to shorter stacks on the money bubble with a big stack. If sb has around 14 to 18k, aka some stack that's too much for us to call if sb shoves, I wouldn't mind a limp in this spot with hands that play well post flop but can't call an all in shove.

2.5x pre, fold to resistance. You're ahead of both Vs range on avg.

thanks for responses all

Intrigued by the 'raise but dont min raise' line that people are advocating here. If I'm raise folding then why would I want to commit more than the min? If I'm raise calling it off then fine but otherwise not sure why I would make it any more than a min.... is the thought that 2.5x looks that much stronger / is harder to peel in the blinds?

You're r/c vs the short stack, r/f would vs him would be bad. We don't want to min raise because the BB can flat so profitably against our open. Sometimes we stand to win more by winning the pot pre flop than we do by getting heads up vs the BB. Matthew Janda made a thread recently in msmtt where he strongly believed it to be the case.

Greg...

Should we 2,5x our entire value raising range here? maybe 5,10%?

Once I have selected a sizing for a villain in the BB I tend to stick to that sizing regardless of whether it's a strong or weak part of my range. Some villains who 3bet you a ton or flat and are good post flop from the BB, it makes sense to choose a larger sizing vs them because their odds to make certain moves become worse. 2.5 is probably the largest I'm raising with an ante in an unraised pot, but not 100%. Just have what you think will be a suitable game plan that makes sense and don't auto-pilot.

Greg making it 2.5x would affect SB range, don't you think so?
I understand getting worse price on steal we give bb worse price to peel which kinda compensate it.
