Re: $70k nightly, AK vs UTG limp shove preflop
1. He can shove worse
2. You have blockers
3. He can be making this play with lots of hands if you have been an active opener and he think you will iso his limp
4. Have seen this too many times with worse hands, without really accurate reads that this is a QQ+ range folding seems -EV
5. Folding 36BB's with AK to a guy you say has FPS with the action given is pretty bad imo

Reason: QQ is not bottom of a randoms range

Re: $70k nightly, AK vs UTG limp shove preflop
It's a call just because anyone playing $70 MTTs isn't dumb enough to limp shove AA because it's a terrible play. I think you're going to be flipping enough of the time and some of the time you're going to chop with AK (also a terrible play to limp shove AK in most situations). You'll also be up against hands like 67s-910s some portion of the time. For that reason this is a call, but it's not a fist pump.

because we have all seen people show up with worse / random hands when this happens on many occasions.

Re: $70k nightly, AK vs UTG limp shove preflop
Honestly, looking at it. I think he has a marginal hand. Situation is pretty simple. He limped and it folded around to the button. Then you Raised. This could easily be considered a blind steal attempt. I would interpret it this way. Everyone else folded, then it came back to him. He's worried about a showdown so he would rather win the pot right now. If he had AA or KK, he would probably Raise you just a little more or slow play. Combining that with your previous hand or hands, he might think he can push you around. To me it sounds like your racing here. Question is, do you want to race?

Re: $70k nightly, AK vs UTG limp shove preflop
If villain is a guy that limps often, I'd fold here.
Usual smart trap with monster...
If we have an image of stealing blinds and raising limpers, than I might call, still I'm pretty sure that I'm going to race.
Most of times I belive in first option and fold.

Re: $70k nightly, AK vs UTG limp shove preflop
I would call when he pushes as a little of an overbet. If he made it 1000, I probably fold, because donks tend to play AA/KK that way.
