Probably because we want to know if we are ever getting value from worse.
We represent only very few missed draws here, so a thinking player will fold his worse hands a lot here I think. Double-floats are still pretty rare these days.
Depends on dynamics and tendencies of villain of course.

In general, I think the play is OK though, especially since the hands that beat TPTK probably bet again on the river. So we can hope getting value from other top pairs.
