$345 Live NLHE 55 shortstack UTG+1

Blinds 50/200/400, 10 handed play

Hero has a stack of 6800, very much the short stack of the table. Dealt 55. What do you do here? To opponents, I have an image that looks like I will bet/fold pre often and appear to be opening very wide. Table is filled with calling stations, and weak players in general.

What do you think my best option here is to do? I don't want to open shove. I was thinking that leading out for something like 1,100 then folding if raised. A friend of mine suggested that folding 55 in a spot like this may not be bad.

Just shove.
When you raise/fold alot they will shove too light over you and you will be flipping at best.
They will probably shove like 22+,54+,68+,Ax,K9+, etc.
So shove and avoid getting shoved on light.

They aren't shoving over me light though. They are weak players, and rarely make stands with less than premium starting hands. A more likely range for them to shove over with would be ATs+, 99+ (with much more weight on the stronger hands in this range) based on how they have been playing.

I think its a fold or a limp with intention of set mining. I know nobody on this forum ever supports limping, but I like it better than a small raise or a shove in this spot. The main reason I hate the raise is that it sounds like you're certain to get called based on your description of your table image.

yeah i'm folding. you'll probably get flatted 4 ways if you open and I don't like shoving this much at a 10 handed table from utg+1.
