Re: 30e JJ preflop spot

I think you could play it a couple different ways, though with your lowish stack it's probably best to play it fast. With respect to anyone out there potentially advocating for a smaller 4bet size, I'm still going to say shove. If we get folds, we bump our stack over 30%. Being this is a button raise from a slightly active opponent, I think his range is relatively wide and as such we're crushing it.

I would ship given his sizing and fact we can't really 3k/fold in this spot ever and folding/calling is absurd

4 bet jam. he has been playing nitty, but this is CO vs BTN so he has to have enough bluffs/3bet for value with worse hands in his range for this to be a comfortable shove

yeah, considering the stack sizes, he could be 3betting 88/99+, AJs+ here. And this is CO vs BTN so his range is still a bit wider than what you may want to initially range it as. Calling is just blah, folding is just soooooo nitty, and we can never 4b/fold here. I lean towards the 4b jam.

Re: 30e JJ preflop spot

easy shove, your hand is too strong to just fold, and you cant flat or 4bet small.

Re: 30e JJ preflop spot

peeling 20% of your stack is no good, folding is no good either, the fact the guy is so damn tight (2nd 3bet in 120 hands) is no good either...

i raised AK for about 20% of my stack a couple days ago and a guy who i had only seen play twice in 6-7 rounds with AA/KK re raised me, i sigh shoved... can't he have AK or QQ here?

no... AA again.

maybe some guys you just have to say he's ABC tight and get away but fml its tough.

Re: 30e JJ preflop spot

minraising pre is alot better here with these stacksize, just gives more options on how to react vs 3bets
obv he can 3b/f alot here as well vs a 2.4ish raise or w/e this is, and he should since we cant 4b light. but its worse to get stacks in preflop (which should be your #1 goal with JJ in this spot)
