Blinds 600/1200 200 ante - 9 handed

My image - Mid 20s kid, backwards baseball cap. Pretty standard I'm assuming. Haven't been around the table long enough to alter that. I have been chipping up somewhat, going from about 18k - 30k in the 1 orbit I have been a part of.

Previous Hand - I opened the button with K9o to steal the blinds. BB shoves about 10 BB into me w JTo (He showed after the play).

Anyways, I'm in the CO. Button is an older guy(Mid 50s?) who seems that he's recreational, but has played the game a while. SB (Guy who shoved JTo) is a mid 40s man who plays well. I put him on the spewy side because he seems adamant both verbally and through his play that he hates blinding out. BB is a Mid 40s New Yorker who seems solid.

Stack Sizes: Me - 30k Button - 12k SB - 15k BB - 50k

Folds to me - I open KJo to 2600. Button Flats, SB/BB fold

(Pot 8800) Flop comes 79T rainbow

I check - and he jams ~9200 into the pot. I think about it and call.

Would you jam the flop here? Bet like 4k - Call? I check-called because I figure I have atleast 12 outs with the double gutter and overs, plus keeping his bluffs in . He doesn't have a set because he'd ship 77 99 TT Pre. I figure he'd do the same with AT/A9. Can't find many holdings where I'm crushed. TBH i was confused because he called in general.
Spoiler:
He has 78s,
was shocked at my call, and I bricked out and he doubled.

I like c/c, you could jam yourself if you knew his range is so wide preflop.

edit: ^^I figured i'd have at least 10 outs is what I meant to say.

i think i woulda jammed before he had the chance to... here's why....

his pre-flop flat was BIZARRE at best... he has less than 10xBB and yet he doesnt jam, only flats... this screams to me that he has very mediocre drawing hand.. you said it yourself, no sets, no AT/A9+, no smallish/mid-pairs, all of which he would have jammed pre (if logical player)..

so 'maybe' he has suited connectors, or, suited one-gappers in the mid range, or, QJ / QT, or KT (i would assume he woulda shoved KQ/KJ)...

To me, just the fact that he didnt shove pre says that he's looking for 'an out' in case you have a big hand and DO jam on the flop...

just bad luck that he got a very good flop for his 78.... dont think you really made any mistakes here

Standard flop shove. All his hands have relevant equity we're cool with folding out given pot size.

mostly c/c. think 2400/c is better than shoving

I like betting small here like 2400-3k and calling a shove. He will have some check folds here and you pick up the pot with king high

What does betting small accomplish compared to checking? Are we shoving 100% of turns if he just calls (other than a potential trap if we turn the nuts)?

I think betting small just gets more folds in the long run and looks stronger. And yes shove any turn really; cannot really do much else with the spr.

We have K high and people want to check? What? Just bet/call.

dont have to over complicate anything here, why on earth would you not take the opportunity to semi bluff?

I think it's bet or even check/fold.

Firstly his preflop jamming range would be include hands with jacks in them and up, so his flatting range is all over that flop and secondly there's a good chance he's going to jam your cbet.

Therefore your losing a third of your stack on a 20% chance with small FE?

And if you jam he's getting 2/1 with two cards to come and he's in front.

Its just an ordinary flop and sometimes you just need to let it go.

I think you should jam flop. If you check and he jams, you are calling anyway with a hand that is probably behind on flop but has pot odds to call. So why not get FE on your side and shove. Should fold out his A high hands which is great. Given you are behind most hands if you bet/call I think go for maximum FE and shove is better than bet/call

I would've just folded. You still would have 22 bb and plenty of time to wait for a better spot. The blinds are going up- and you had a stack big enough become stacked within a few rotations.

Like jamming flop over c/c

Think it's a jam. Based on SPR we can pretty much jam TP+ here for value, so we'll need to use hands like KJo as bluffs to balance. If we start using a lot of our gutshots I think we'll be overbluffing, but using double gutters with potential additional live outs seems good.

Really dont like cc here, if we bet sth and he folds some Ax or deny him equity is far better than cc imo.

I was rusty when replied still 10bb flat is weird.
It's either traps or hand which connects well and we have lots of A-high we can't do much with.

Still think I will c/x often w OESD.
