villain is rly good/aggro/big winner etc. very early in this one so no specific history or anything meaningful. its kind of an annoying spot cause we both rep thin for value (even though he reps slightly less than i do). i think the options are close. ingame i kind of wanted to shove but also didnt want to punt super early in a reasonably soft field and get shown 88. what would you do? would you even bet turn to begin with? thx for any feedback.

I'd check one if not both streets. More inclined to bet flop if there was one heart.

Checking at any point in this hand seems too nitty. I'd play the hand the exact same way. I don't really see the purpose of checking since we have J high and getting villain to fold anything is good. Flop cbet is std and sizing is fine. Once A comes on turn its the easiest barrel card. Turn sizing is alittle big, you can probably size it around 700-800 and still fold out 8x. If hes a competent player he's probably not folding Qx or Ax floats on turn regardless of your sizing so you save yourself some chips. A smaller turn bet also sets up for a more profitable triple barrel since he'll have more hands to fold on river. Facing a check raise against a good aggressive player you can't really do much besides fold. You're not getting the right immediate odds to your double gutter and if hes bluffing you don't have implied odds when he gives up. You'll also have plenty of Ax+ hands here so folding JT here is fine.
