No special dynamics, CO is aggro, UTG is fish.

Call or fold?

888 Poker - $100+$9|200/400 Ante 50 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 5 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 10.38 BB (VPIP: 9.09, PFR: 10.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 11)
SB: 40.02 BB (VPIP: 20.73, PFR: 13.84, 3Bet Preflop: 5.71, Hands: 167)
Hero (BB): 23.54 BB
UTG: 15.98 BB (VPIP: 40.48, PFR: 10.26, 3Bet Preflop: 7.69, Hands: 42)
CO: 25.76 BB (VPIP: 37.04, PFR: 23.08, 3Bet Preflop: 14.29, Hands: 27)

5 players post ante of 0.13 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2.13 BB) Hero has 9 9

UTG raises to 2 BB, CO raises to 25.63 BB and is all-in, BTN calls 10.25 BB and is all-in, fold

pretty easy fold especially when btn cold calls. even if he folds its pretty easy fold for me. CO range vs 40/10 16bb minraise shouldnt ever be wider than 88 AQ imho

edit : i was surprised this hand was posted, but then I saw u played cash and just transitioned to tournaments. try working in HRC for this kind of spots, altough i believe that u have trouble with ranging guys w <25bbs

I guess CO has same perception of utg so you can let this one go even w/o BTN for 20bb+.

What is HRC?

I figured CO wouldn't shove JJ+, so his range should be a lot of AQ+/88-TT, which we are decent against, especially since UTG will often raise fold Ax/Kx.

Surely TT here is a call though?

hrc for holdem resources calculator. u could try icmizer 2 also for these spots as it's faster and easier to use. i strongly suggest that u work somewhat on that part of the game because u might bleed too much chips.

CO at other stacks depth sure (like he having 30+bbs and someone covering him), u could discount QQ+ on occasion but a guy with 25bbs calling 10bb shove and not reshoving is pretty weird, so im sure that he would play his whole range as reshove in this spot,in which case 99 is probably breakeven/smallish +/- cEV reshove.

u re also forgetting that UTG will call pretty decent amount of time with AK JJ+. also, it's a 40/10 utg with 15bb stack, i dont see him raise folding that often as u re suggesting. he will play some part of his range as open shove so his open here is pretty polarized between r/c for sure and r/f for sure ( he wont have AJs AQo 88 77 99 to raise fold/call bcs he would probably go for a shove with them ) , and his PFR of 10 is suggesting that it would be more a raise for value here ( he is probably limping some hands still with that stack ).

TT would be bottom of my gii range here probably

Small sample on utg, I think he can r/f some 5 handed, just don't think CO will jam very wide however yeah his range will be capped or strongly capped most likely.
Might go w/ 99 w/o BTN as well.

TT is closer and might be good enough to comfortably get it in vs some ranges.

Yeah play with software to get better feeling for such spots.
