Early chip leaders at these $360s are rarely the uber talented players... may times they are donks that outdrew a better player for a huge pot when they didn't have odds to chase. So I discount those players a little bit.
I also don't think he's re-jamming over the top with an absolute monster like a set. His range is pretty narrowly defined to AJ/KJ/QQ or two pair. If that's his range then it's a mathematically equitable play to call all-in. It's a high-variance play, though, and probably 40-60% of the time you're going to get the boot. The rest of the time, though, you're going to have a huge chip lead on the table and will be cruising to the money.
