Preflop: Hero is BTN with 7 7
4 folds, MP3 raises to 24,000, CO folds, Hero raises to 166,087 and is all-in

It was MP3 second 3BB openraise and its like the first 10 Hands on FT. Do I have to fold here? If fold, what range do you shove here against the open?

All-in seems fine. A flat would not be terrible, just a little too passive. Maybe you're too short to be flatting. I wouldn't fold unless there were some 3-6 bb stacks and I thought being a nit might take me up the ladder multiple spots. That is not the case here.

Seems pretty reasonable, and what I'd probably do esp with a lot of short-stackers at the table. Probably throw in AJ/A10s vs 3x though.

very good percentage play, mp3 is out of line and his range is very wide. Flatting seems wrong because you dont have much implied odds and also things could be bad if overcards come on the flop. Folding seems cowardly.

It's a fold . If MP3 just shoved his range then you're supposed to only call TT+,AQs,AKo (from a quick calc on icm software) . The trouble is he probably won't be folding to a shove as much as he should which really hurts you because you're flipping a lot and that's bad here since you can be eliminated in 9th or you double your stack but not your equity in the tournament . So theres a lot more to lose than gain here . You should only shove here if you are sure of a lot of fold equity . Because opener should be folding hands as strong as 88 and AJs to a shove but we know he won't do that

If we have 30% equity when we get called (assuming our opponent calls off with top-5% hands) we need our opponent to fold 61% of the time for the shove to be good. I think it's pretty close, and considering there's some ICM pressure I can see folding being ok. Not deep enough to seriously consider calling to set mine.

Way too optimistic to expect 60% fe vs 3x at 20bb.
