Clive if they do that they may never get paid Trent obviously is a heartless POS I’m sure he is hurting for cash. This seems to much like a plan to line pockets how much investment money you think has come in? For this guy to say the pot was short almost 30k in a event where his family took in all the buy ins and add on’s and supposedly he took the cash alone to a secure location nightly is what was being said. I’m sure it won’t be hard to guess where the30k missing money and dealer tip money is. I’m gonna get more info tonight from a few dealers and friends

is it a coincidence that Trent bought a property in Katy for a sum of 250k recently?

according to witnesses - the initial entries were all input to the computer system but any re-entries were NOT input and did not change the total on the computer screens - they were hand written but not input

In addition the word is that 60-80 seats were given away at the old location but only 30 were used in the event itself

since this was on buy in - and the starting stacks for the final table were published - it would be easy to figure out what the real prize pool would be

in answer to your question as far as how much investment money came in - numbers being battered around range from 500k-1M

finally all work has been stopped on construction which - according to someone close to the source - the contractor's check bounced (40-50k)

Also all dealers are being claimed on a 1099 status which of course they don't qualify for)

as far as the prize pool being wrong - after calculating the final table chip counts and all numbers reported on the WPT website - it seems that they are in line with a total of 777.5 entries which would be less than 1.5 buy ins than the actual number of 779 reported - this would be less than 1% with rounding down but within acceptable levels. So as far as the prize pool being off....i can't see it

update...the number of chips could be off a tad downward for players had the option of surrendering their stacks and starting over....this happened in a few cases

Yes employees were told at 4PM on Monday after a 2pm meeting with investors and over 20+ showed up to a bull**** conference held by Trent Daniel after being notified at 9am that they will be paid after 2 weeks of waiting. Was told he said not only was there no money but he also took the tips and used that too. I wonder who else is involved I know Ihost poker tables were being used in this event through pictures but was Bill Huear guest involved with FreeRolls also. Would like more insight and I hear there videos of employees fighting one another cause was complete chaos there that day. I’ve heard it all before about Trent that he is well known for things like this so not surprising but I know for a fact that investors are asked weekly and daily to invest more money. I was told there room may never open and it’s not even close to being done and contractor was playing poker last week saying there is no money to pay him or even move on with project. Has anyone else heard anything

From the horses mouth - iHostPoker Casino Parties rented tables and supplied a couple of dealers for the WPT main event (Day 1 and 2) - Even though we have a very small outstanding invoice to Freerolls, all of the dealers that were hired through iHostPoker have been paid in full. I am confident that the last invoice sent to Freerolls will be paid in due time and I am not too worried about it. - Bill Heuer

using your last name for new account opened today - check

Trent, nice try! Next time go with a different last name for your screen name and it might just work.

Can someone please explain to me why there are no Dallas poker rooms, considering it's legal in Texas?

Have you read through the entire thread? Your question would have been answered several times over...

And no, it is not necessarily 'legal.' However, there have been no prosecutions which have resulted in a conviction and some jurisdictions have adopted a hands-off policy. Those in the Dallas area were not so fortunate and DID get letters (allegedly) from local law enforcement. Those entities chose to close rather than pay the costs with prospective criminal prosecution.

At least you have games that are regulated that you can get to with a short drive...not all in this thread have that option.

Clive can you post a concise summary of what has happened in the past month?
10-18-2018 , 06:54 PM
no i can't - lol

I came upon this fiasco long before it hit the news but for the sake of the dealers - I kept off the radar to give the owners a chance to pay their dealers.

I can tell you that if I owe someone and especially if I owe them money for time they worked for me - that man will get paid.

I was asked to sit on this news so that Trent could try to get the investors to come up with the money but quite frankly that should NEVER have been an issue. On no dimension should the payroll be used to pay bills - that is not his money to spend.

That being said - I held back until the flood of comments started.

This is NOT a case of the dealers did not get paid the next day after the tourney - this is a case of two weeks later that in a meeting that the employees being told "we are broke - there is no money to pay you" AND YET - the owners are posting on facebook that they are at the Astros game. (Sell those damn tickets)

There are tons of stories being battered around - some false information is bound to be smeared but I have talked personally and some in person with several dealers and they all verified the basic facts.

My goal in all this was to shine a high powered spotlight on this issue and get those dealers paid.

The owners KNEW what their financial situation was - they got $100 per entry or $79,000 in entry fees and at the end approx $8200 in tip money (which was not theirs in any way shape or form)

I also want to make sure that the employees understand that in no way are they 1099 employees for they fail that test on many levels and should not accept anything that a full 100% of their pay and not sign off for less and incur tax liabilities that they are not responsible for.

fyi, i'd hold onto your pay stub in case there are issues/discrepancies with your W2 too

Just in case some of the people reading this thread regularly haven't seen it there is another thread on NVG re: the Freerolls situation and the guy who ran the WPT Deepstacks tourney just made a detailed post about some of the issues going on with it. Here is the link - https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/2...38/index5.html

Finally went to MINT. It’s a decent place, lots of action had 6 tables going last night. Probably one too many tables in there. A bit crowded. It’s not as big as the pics make it look. Staff was very good and friendly. What I like is instead of doing the tokens for time fees, you get a card and you can load up time on it, like a bus pass or EZ Tag. Dealer scans it at the table.

I'm not sure why anyone would support anything Freerolls does going forward. It is obvious that the owners and management of this place are nothing more then con artist trying to make a score and they have taken the poker community to all be Marks. In all honestly I hope criminal charges are filed against these fools.

Some Htown updates:

Freerolls posted on FB that they are planning to open on November 15th. Will believe it when I see it.

Several new clubs opening:

Sam Houston which is Bill Heuer's new club near the horse track. Smaller than Post Oak but looks nice in photo's and is located on a golf course.

Star's Poker Club off Veteran's Memorial. On Poker Atlas.

Royal Social just popped up on Poker Atlas. Looks like it is off Gessner near the Westpark Tollway. Says it will have 10 tables and be opening soon.

Another new one planned to open in a few months off Westheimer (near Wilcrest W of Beltway). Met the owner and he is talking like it will be big, similar to Prime. Says his rate will be $10 an hour. Connected to a lot of PLO players so will be interesting to see if he can get some of the action to move there.

Many of the other clubs that have opened are dead with only 1 table a night running if they are lucky (Steelhouse, Poker Royals, Kings & Cards, Rounders etc).

Post Oak gets 2 to 3 tables of 1/3 NL daily and occasionally a 1/3 PLO. On Monday they host a private 10/20 ROE game and on Thursday's a 10/20 PLO game(open to anyone who signs up). Have been running at least 2 tables on Thursday and sometimes 3.

Prime is still dominating with 5 to 6 1/3 NL tables, a 5/5 NL, 15/30 ROE, 2 to 3 1/3 PLO, 2 to 3 5/5 PLO and at least one bigger PLO or NL game running daily.
