Just looking for a home game, preferably no rake. I've heard the horror stories of house games with rake (house players, no max rake, etc.).

I live in the College Park area but can travel anywhere. I wouldn't mind hosting either honestly. I wish I could get college kids to play but they never will. I am 21. Just feel its absurd the $7 rake at Live and elsewhere.

If you cant beat a $7 rake at a $1-2 NL live casino game, its very likely you wont ever be a winning poker player by any significant measure.

Trying to start your own home game is a noble idea though, so good luck to you.

No - because a winning poker player who plays at live crushes 1/2 for a good win rate.

That said player also moves up to higher and better games.

I play at a game around DC - there are plenty - but they all rake - and they are all extremely juicy games with 10k plus on the table. Those are the games you want.

No one is gonna host a 1/2 no rake game - it's just not worth it for the house. I would start your own
