A couple buddies of mine are thinking of getting a home game going in the New Haven area. Actually more specifically, very close to where the Yale bowl is on Rt 34. A second location might be in the works at my house which I live in the Woodbridge/Bethany area.
We are all maybe 28-38 years old, we are all casual/rec players nothing crazy, no mind bending skill here. We keep it small and fun.
The environment will be pretty relaxed probably at times chain smoking cigs(which I hate, but tolerate) drinking, probably some green thumbs doing the bob marley thing too.
We play no limit hold em and usually blinds are .25/.25. Buy ins are usually $20. The blinds are small but it has played like a 1/2 game. You will see a few rebuys and cash outs comparable to a small 1/2 game.
NOTHING is set in stone yet. The table would probably be a crappy table because its a spur of the moment thing that we are sort of "re starting" among my poker friends. We had a decent game going years ago but had trouble getting a full table and it got boring playing 5 handed.
I do have plans to make a proper table and get good chips, which I am more than capable of building a quality table with good materials. The table of course would be at my house because it will be full size and probably weigh 500 lbs
