Anyone from AZ interested in a WSOP $1500 NLH Qualifier home game?
I am looking to host a qualifier for a $1500 WSOP ticket + $300 towards travel and board. I would want 9 or 10 at players for the game at a $200 per player and would make it a deep stack, so as to allow for some decent amount of play time.
The idea would be that the winner of the game will go to play in the event and a percentage of winnings(To be defined by the group) will remain with the house.
If you are interested and live in the Phoenix Area please let me know.

This'll get moved to the sub-forum as soon as one of the moderators find it, but in the meantime, I'll give you a free bump, let you know that I might be interested (although I already made my trip this year), and that I run a cash league that sends players to 3-4 events a year in the SE valley if you've got players looking for more Phoenix home games in that price range.

I would be interested but it's a little late to be planning this thing for this year.
Start this thread up next year in late winter/early spring.
wait. except that part where part of the winnings go to the 'house'. I'm willing to be the house for nothing except the chance to win. Although I also would be in favor of the non winning players owning a small equity stake in the winner's wsop event.

Good catch, Zathras. I missed this the first time.
OP, if you're talking about keeping a cut for yourself in exchange for hosting, then you need to list the game in Non-Trad and make it clear that you're charging the league a vig.
If you just mean that non-winning players will get a cut, that's fine but you still need to clarify your intent, please.

I may have not made myself fully clear on my intent. What I meant by "The House" was the players that play in the game and what I meant by "a percentage will go to the house" Was a percentage stake in the winnings from the WSOP. So the 9 players that did not win will own a 10%(for example) stake in the winner's wsop event

Hi sorry for not being clear, my intent is that the players that do not win in this event will have a percentage stake in the winning player's WSOP event. That is what I meant by a percentage going back to the house. All the money to enter the game will be used as prize money.

Re: Anyone from AZ interested in a WSOP $1500 NLH Qualifier home game?
ok, thanks for clarifying. That is not what is traditionally referred to as 'the house'.
That sounds pretty much like what I played in a few months ago.
I think it was $150 with 20 players. They sent 2 to vegas to play in a $1500 NLH, with 75% equity. The losers get the other 25% equity. I went busto fairly early and cut out so I wasn't sure who the winners were til I checked yesterday. Turns out one of them cashed (close to a min-cash) in event 38 last week and the other plays this saturday.
So I think I'm in line to receive about $40 bucks so far. lol. better than nothing.

Haha. Better than nothing and you still have 1 more to play, so good luck with that!
It is getting pretty close to the end of WSOP and only realistic events we could play for are the $1500 NLH starting on Monday or the $ 1000 starting on Wed/Thurs. If you are definitely interested in playing can you PM me your Name and phone number and I will see if I can organize something for this weekend.

Re: Anyone from AZ interested in a WSOP $1500 NLH Qualifier home game?
To all that have shown interest. Please can you PM me your name and phone number by tomorrow and I will see if I can organize something for this weekend. There are only a couple of events we could realistically play for, $1500 NLH starting on Monday or the $ 1000 NLH starting on Wed/Thurs.
I will be looking to start a Bi-Weekly or Monthly game also for tickets to the AZ State, where we would have some equity in a lot of players by the end of the events, so even if we do not make the WSOP one happen then still send me your info if interested in the AZ State qualifiers.
Additionally I will be releasing a website very soon(coming weeks) where we will be able to schedule and contact players, hosts and dealers (A home poker networking site). I will also send the info out for this site via PM if you are interested.
Thanks Again!
