You simply cannot win lategame straight up against mech, dont waste money on bls or ultras and just mass roaches with good upgrades, attacking everywhere at once.

ling/bling/muta vs bio or bio/tank

lotsa roaches vs mech

my ZvT was the only thing that kept me in platinum

in zvt ling/infestor into ling/infestor/ultra is the standard play now. not many people go ling/bling/muta normally anymore.

I think you underestimate how much harder infestor-based play is for people with terrible mechanics.

I think you underestimate how much mechanical problems have to do with keeping you in platinum.

Edit: Btw, lost in IPL's "amateur" satellite. I say it like that because what it really is is a giant bumhunting fest for a couple mediocre Koreans.

I should be in gold. I just happen to beat the crap out of platinum Ts because ZvT is ez at that level.

I know exactly how much my mechanics hold me back, but I don't really care because why would I want to get to better?

The whole point of what I'm saying is: If one has bad mechanics, like me, use ling/bling/muta because it's easier to micro than infestor/anything. Goofy's silver, it'll work great for him.

muta based play requires better mechanics than just about anything else. the reason i dont go mutas is because my control and mechanics are not good enough.

We're talking about a level where mechanics are poor enough that you can lose an entire army before getting off more than 3 or 4 fungals. Mutas are far easier to play with at that level.

Mechanics have nothing to do with clicking F and clicking toward the center of his army repeatedly. Mutas are much harder because they suck balls in fights and if you don't have the multitasking required to harass with them, they're basically good for nothing except killing medivacs after the fight is over or picking off stray seige tanks (but this requires multitasking as well).

The only real challenging thing about infestor-based styles is drop defense. But that's generally solved by putting up spines and a spore at all the common drop entry points, and maybe an infestor as well. This isn't optional either. Even basic drop harass can rip you apart if you aren't prepared for it. It's just easier to cover up with mutas because you can actually kill the drop, whereas a lot of times with infestors, you only deflect it because they pick up when you come.

Edit: With muta play, you need to play perfectly to win. With infestors, you force the terran to play perfectly or lose.

I personally find it much easier to multitask muta harass (because I can control when that happens) than I do to fungal correctly (because often my opponent determines when I need to do that).

I just won all 5 of my placement matches and got placed in... Platinum? Does your mmr reset if you haven't played in a while (I haven't 1v1 laddered in a year), or does that just mean my mmr was so bad that I was about to get demoted multiple times before I stopped playing?
