Well, I just played my 5th placement match. Actually.. I'm still playing my 5th placement match. I'm a Random player, and started 4-0. 5th game I drew Protoss on Steppes of War against another Protoss player.
I think 2-gating is almost mandatory on this map, so I open with that, and send out my 9 probe to scout. I see Chrono-boosting Probes and what looks like a late Gateway with no Gas. I figure he's a giant noob because that's pretty much all I've played so far in my placements. A few seconds later I see cannons going down inside my base.
My first two Zealots keep him from warping in any cannons that can touch my probes, but I am very quickly overwhelmed. I send in about 7 Zealots to his main hoping that he's a tard and hasn't built any cannons in his base, and sure enough, he's just throwing up two Assimilators. He runs his Probes out and I send a few Zealots to chase, and keep the rest to destroy his Nexus.
In the meantime, I'm saving up Minerals and run all of my Probes out of my base as well, but only 1 manages to escape. I've got about ~500 Minerals and quickly throw down a new Nexus, but stupidly, I place it at my own expo. His probes show up and nuke it down; I cancel in time and get the Probe away, but I've only got ~360 Minerals now, and not enough Zealots to ever take out his photon cannons.
Apparently he's in the same boat, though, because he doesn't Nexus at my old main, and suicides all his Probes into my Zealots, leaving us in a stalemate. He says, "Well, I've got class, later!" and AFK's, and I'm obv never quitting. I'm hoping he's got some ****ty campus internet and it disconnects, otherwise it may be awhile before my next game.

Woot, promoted from Gold straight to Diamond. 
I was kind of looking forward to slowly climbing through the leagues tho, and I'm def at best a low Diamond player. I'm 18-11 atm.
Once you're promoted to a certain level's division, do you stay in that division forever, assuming you don't drop down or move up? For instance, I'm in 1v1 Diamond, Division: Bhekar Ro Lima. Will I always be here, or are the Divisions sorted as well?
I was kind of looking forward to slowly climbing through the leagues tho, and I'm def at best a low Diamond player. I'm 18-11 atm. Once you're promoted to a certain level's division, do you stay in that division forever, assuming you don't drop down or move up? For instance, I'm in 1v1 Diamond, Division: Bhekar Ro Lima.
