to expand, you don't want to be dropping a 2 base protoss. if he has any ability at all he should push away your drops easily.

playing against storm/collosus has been the bane of my T career. i think i won more vs bl/inf than against that. are they doing that off 2 base? are you still waiting to move out til you are maxxed? pressure is good and if they are turtling to a deathball on 2 base, you should have plenty of time to get up 4-5 bases and tons of production. i think easiest way to attempt to beat it is to cloak ghosts/constantly scan and snipe obs and go for huge emps. pretty sure silver P arent gonna split templar well (or army for that matter) so like 5 emps and then stim in ftmfw

2 gate robo > expand is pretty awful. He can't pressure you (therefore conceding your expansion) and he is sacrificing economy.

So what you do is just play more greedy. Don't drop, don't attack. Just take a third before he does and macro up. The only thing you need to be ready for is if he decides to all in you on 2 bases. If he does, as long as you know it's coming and you have macroed well up to that point, you can hold it. It will take some practice to feel completely comfortable with how many units you will need, but it's doable. If he doesn't all in you, then just lol and take bases everywhere and wait to max out cause you're far ahead.

My MMR must have dropped to LOW gold....from Diamond, with no games played. Amazing. Wtf blizz?

Haha im laughing at my friend because he was so proud to be diamond and I just thought how the **** did he make it to Diamond as he is just not better than midPlatin. His MMR actually was on silverlvl this season after he got demoted to gold last. It was def that bug where too many people made it to Diamond.

But well you surely can make it back easily when you are really on Diamondlvl.

doin some more drunk 2v2 tonight, decided that playing worse and worse wasnt worth ruining the #1 diamond spot, so off the customs we go

we played as ZP, i did ONLY queens, friend did only oracles. 20 queens vs 60 protoss supply is hilarious. transfuse almost more op than fungal growth. pretty sure i lost less than 5 queens all game. also had ~100 apm with only queens/creep tumors. way too fun

It is just very clear they actually dropped my MMR massively which I didn't think they ever did (only adjust the league boundaries or reset you when inactive for over a season).

i'm pretty sure i've seen it stated that they will reset your MMR if you are inactive for a full season

Lings are involved in Muta builds and holding all ins.

Macro ling mode is really only used in the rush to Ultra build that I have seen which appears out of favour.

Ultra-Ling is still really popular. Though Hydra based builds are probably better.

Can't remember seeing anyone else but HyuN use it in absolutely ages. I haven't been watching all WCS stuff though.

watching some ZzzvZzz reminded me of a game the other night. opponent goes muta (doesnt do damage by surprise or anything) and i choose not to counter with mutas, whats a good composition against it? had like 3 spores at each of 3 base.

tried to roach hydra but ended up not having enough hydras to fight his mutas, pretty sure i just lost the game then, but dragged it out a bit, always slightly too low on $$ to make enough ling hydra inf vs his muta ling bling. had 1 shot to $$$$$$ fungal but wasnt close enough in time and pretty sure i freaked out and started chaining them prematurely

game opened kinda weird as i had a "contain" outside his nat, didnt save replay so not sure if i can still find it

The way ZvZ works is:
- if my opponent goes muta-ling-bane and I go roach-hydra, they deny my 3rd for too long, my infestors are ineffective at denying their mutas from keeping map control, I get starved out, don't have enough to win
- if I go muta-ling-bane and my opponent goes roach-hydra, they get infestors out and make my mutas ineffective and I eventually just die when they attack me
