I feel like Curious threw that pretty hard or at least played pretty unoptimally when he won the major air battle towards the end, and then proceeded to sit on his ~2 bases on 160 vs 70 supply and let Hero remax on units specifically designed to wreck his composition (i.e. replacing what used to be tempests with void rays that his corruptors would never be able to kill again). At that point you have to do something to seize your advantage and camp his production, bring the swarm hosts forward; sitting there idly seems like the worst possible decision. Did he think he was out-mining Hero, who took all the bases he wanted unchallenged throughout the game??

In general I think split-map games where Zerg has to rely on trading their half of the map's resources more efficiently than Protoss or Terran is a losing proposition; Zerg's strength is in numbers, the P and T lategame armies (mech or any number of Protoss compositions) will always be able to trade so much better.

I think you're probably right, but Curious is in a difficult spot there. His corruptors are paperweights without air units to attack, and his swarm hosts need to defend against zealot runbys. If he does something like wall off with evos while building 20 hydras, he can probably win by taking out the main with swarm hosts.
