Pretty insane that Soo has basically thrown two games now where he was on 5 base muta-corruptor versus 3. I'm not sure if the first one was a throw or not but that last one on Yeonsu was pretty bad for him to lose.

zergs really need to micro more on their arcs when trying to bust someone especially against protoss with hydras

getting 20+ attacks on gateways instead of moving in and hitting important stuff like colossi is a killer.

I'm not sure there was much Soo could have done in that fight. The hydras are supposed to be the damage dealers and they got FF'd out while the roaches died.

first of all, thats not a full wall.

2nd, I meant like 5-6 seconds after that, when there are 2 collosi left if i remember correctly and no forcefields. He couldve moved instead of hitting air/buildings but didnt.

Even those roaches right there, if you command move in range of collossi and one shot em instead of shooting at guardian shielded stackers n **** its a mirrion times berrar

After this screenshot, the hydras are shooting at the void ray and kill it, and when the hydras move forward Zest pulls the hurt colossus back towards the high ground while the phoenixes pick up the remaining hydras - at that point there isn't enough damage output left for Soo to have a hope of taking the fight.

I think you're right that the left side could have been microed a little better in the first screenshot - but to be fair, the two FFs that are still there in #2 were put up shortly after #1 specifically to block the roaches from advancing.

Soo probably could have taken a slightly better fight but it's really hard in the moment to make correct decisions about where individual units should be microed. Shooting at sentries and stalkers isn't terribly valuable, but at the same time any time that your units spend moving towards a particular target while in range of other units is time that they're taking free damage.

maybe not as bad as i thought but that was like 100% attack move from anything but the corruptors, seems still pretty bad to me.

Mind boggling to think about how close that engagement (the one pictured above) in game 7 was and that it had 50k to the winner. Like holy **** the pressure wtf Soo must feel so bad after he knows he's basically lost the game when his push falls short. Just wowwwww ahhhh i'd be an emotional wreck after that.

The battle was so close it's just straight up gambling at that point ;P

m
