Valesco Valesco

This is all gossip and no content. Please don't move me this over to NVG - they don't know anything over there!

How well was he doing in the 100/200 games when that was the highest limit? Has Valesco changed his style of play in the last year or two? I remember him being very, very solid, but the last time few times I played with him, he seemed to play much more aggressive and creatively.

Also, while we are at it, is he one of the tougher higher limit regs? Note to MN players, I don't care how he does against you - I know you'd all LOVE to have him in your game or something so we can save that, but how does he does overall?

The reason i care is because I like his style and if I were to pick up limit holdme seriously again, I could see myself playing similarly to him whereas I could never play like doughnutz or some other spazz .

jv, i dont think u shud pigeonhole your style.

also, rumors of doughnutz spewiness are way overblown. he has made some very savvy folds in my experience. and i am no nit, my stats are closer to lag.

I guess it's not so much that I'd pick a style, obv I would just try and make one work, but I always rooted for valesco whenever I'd sweat the games and am curious about him.

I played him 2 tables of HU once I recall and he didn't do anything spewy the entire time. I remember feeling like I was forcing chips into the pot so when he got real lucky in a big pot I just sat out. I think he was one of the bigger winners in the 1/2 last year.

Yes, he is one of the best regulars if not the best of those who play regularly.

He also plays the most out of all the regs.

It is quite the combo and results in sick profit.

I only have a limited sample on him, but I would definitely not want him in my game.

he's a stud. used to tilt me like none other. he also did something that made him a lot better - though it could be that i just began to run bad. that's probably what it was actually.

lol, before I had much experience with him, I read a post in which Schneids called Valesco 'solid'. Then I went and checked my notes on him and noticed 'would not lay down A hi, very bad player'...... I forget the hand that made me make that note, but it involved a lot of big bets in what I thought was a hopeless situation....

I've since updated my view of him.

Not much to add really with the direction of this post going as is, but I think he's really freaking good. Definitely top 5 players I've played in my time at Stars and I've pretty much played with everyone. It's not just that he's good, it's that he makes life tough as well. There's a difference between that and how I view myself, and I wish I could figure out how to do it.

Valesco is very good and makes my life tough. Likely the biggest winner in 1/2 this last year.

doughnutz plays more hands and his winrate is twice that of valesco.

Having played him recently... he's far better than he was a couple years back. It pains me, but he's better than me now

huh?

wat

doughnutz is a winning player in stars 1-2 for sure. not as good as valesco though, imo.

just wondering where you came up with that affleck, since valesco got elite last year and i am not sure about the winrate part but i find that unlikely also.

I've seen huge databases; also attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion...

all i know is i've never beaten him in a hand. either he just blasts me out of the pot since i never make a pair, or he has an overpair when i have top pair, or in the rare situation where i have the best hand on the flop or turn, i don't have it on the river.

how can you beat a guy who never loses?

also it seems like he never folds a pair. that seems to be winning strategy these days. yet if i do it i'm just a payoff wizard.

I had some success bluffraising him on the turn since he's so aggressive.

I heard that if you donkbet the river during a full moon he can be defeated.

Unless he has a 10 year old or younger playing, he is lying.
