Piejay... Piejay...

So I'm going through PT today so I can pay my taxes <puke> and this data crosses my eye... I think it deserves some discussion.

I have very mixed thoughts about this guy. On the one hand he appears to be a fish. On the other hand, he plays his style VERY well IMHO. I feel that I have an edge, though determining how large it is (and I dont think its absurdly large) has proven difficult.

I tend to whip this guys ass at lower stakes, yet every time we play 2/4 or 3/6 he pulverizes me. I'm a net loser to him this year (I think last year too but very small sample then and at like 50 stakes) in terms of money. Down ~21k to him this year. I've won 1976 times and lost 1593... and I'm down!? Seriously? This seems absurd to me.

I've only really heard anything about him 3rd hand, and it was from arguably the best online LHE player out there who was quoted to say "I respect his game."

Any thoughts on this from those who've played him with decent sample size? Is he 2p2?

Used to be The Count, cultivated an image of a shorthanded LHE expert three or four years back, even cited in some papers as "one of the best limit holdem players in the world". Turns out he made all his money in accounting, eventually people realized that he sucked, games started going around him on UB and later stars, most people eventually came to the same conclusion, he's ok but not as good as the best players.

Doesn't seem that strange to me, a number of reasons why this could be the case, although you stated the most obvious.

I'm not sure if you are saying theCount and PieJay are the same people. If you are saying this, I really really don't think this is true. If you are not saying this, could you clarify a little please?

As for theCount making his money in accounting, he may have made a lot there, but he also crushed online poker for a long time, before any of you guys were playing. Roy Cooke, reported that he made more than double anyone else on Planet Poker, when it was the second biggest site. Obviously no one knew how to play then, though.

Hmm, I might have him confused with someone else. I've been out of LHE circles for a long time.

The guy has popped up on the Nevada online poker sites & I was shocked at how spot on OP was...Have the exact same feelings about him here in 2014 lol. Hello all the way back to 2008!

What stakes is he playing in Nevada? Last I was there the biggest games offered were 10/20?
