Paul horn shot dead :(

Most of the regulars here probably haven't been around long enough to remember Paul

I had some of the most memorable moments of my poker career playing head up with the Horn High Low at the Venetian during my first world series

Hey Mark,

Instead of posting stuff like this, why don't you answer my question about the thousands of dollars you stole from me? Thanks.

Re: Paul horn shot dead :(

It was interesting to see it say he lived pay check to pay check, he sure didn't act or play like it 5 years ago at the bellagio when I played black chips with him.

Vulgar yet funny guy who occasionally took it too far when he got drunk. I do remember laughing a ton when he was in games. He used to call me mr. king rag because one of the first nights we played together in a 3 handed game I kept beating him with king rags that would flop a king and win.

He did, however, write someone a check for chips and then cancel the check. That person can speak more about it if they wish since I don't know if they ever got paid back other than like 2-3 yrs later I know they hadn't.

Haven't talked to that person in a couple years but as far as I know he probably never got paid, he did once almost get barred from the Bellagio for trying to collect the debt...

Some of my favorite Paul horn moments probably shouldn't be mentioned here, but a funny one I rememeber was when he was banned from drinking in the Bellagio poker room so he brought the little bottle of Bellagio mouthwash from his room and drank that at the table

The song he wrote about the person who never got paid was pretty funny too

Re: Paul horn shot dead :(

Uhh, your entire Kagome Kagome thread

It is amazingly hypocritical that you start a thread and bitch about one player changing his screen name and being unaware of who you are playing and then defending Mark who has ADMITTED to playing on another player's account.

Re: Paul horn shot dead :(

This thread isn't about mark. I'm not defending him at all. This is a thread about a fellow poker player who died. Show some respect.

Any further off topic will be erased. Feel free to start another thread detailing your story with mark if you want. You also may not agree with my kagome thread but it's def not scumbag material.

Re: Paul horn shot dead :(

****in Paul Horn

Guy strolled into Borgata late one weekday night as I was playing some great 40/80 game. He wanted to play 1/2, and having played in a full-ish game with Paul before, I quickly gave up my seat to go buy black chips.

We get our seats, and we're going to play heads-up. But then, before the first hand is dealt, Paul insists he won't play unless I pay his time for him. We sit around arguing about this for like a half hour before I finally relent and agree to pay his time.

So Paul winds up being a far better heads-up player than he was at multiway, and just destroys me for around 20k. He constantly needles me throughout the match, shows me bluffs seemingly every time I fold. In the moment I felt like I must have been getting incredibly unlucky. In hindsight, Paul owned me psychologically, putting me on tilt before a hand was even dealt, and his heads-up abilities were no less than decent.

I tell Paul that I'm going to stop paying his time. He says if I do that, he's going to quit playing. I angrily pay one more round of time, and another player sits in the game. That half hour I decide to quit. As the dealer pushes, I pick up what's left of my chips, and Paul quietly puts up his own time, giving no such demands to his next opponent.

I really looked forward to the next time I'd run into HiLo Horn. Very sad thread.
