Serious question. What is the purpose of transferring money to people online that you don't know in real life? If they aren't going to give you more money back (like a bank loan) than what is the point? I realize its nice and all, but I just don't see this as something I would ever do. I have a hard enough time getting childhood friends to pay me back, let alone people I know on only on the internet.

people dont do it to be nice, they do it because its a favor to help move money and at some point most people who play on multiple sites will need a favor as well.

I see. I guess I still don't get it though. I would just wait for money so I didn't need that favor. Because I certainly would never transfer a significant amount of money to anyone I didn't know in real life. And not then unless I could kick his ass.

Re: is dustin "neverwin" woolf trying to rob me?

well, what if you're busto on XX site and you see a good game going, obviously you need to ship funds asap... there is always a risk, but among other high stakes players who have their own reputation to worry about, you're going to be much better off taking that small risk transferring so you can get action... this is high stakes forum, duno if you play high stakes, but if you are an elite player its def in your best interest to keep all options open, and maintaining br's on all sites is not practical.

that said, obviously you have to use good judgment, which apparently didn't happen in this particular case

If all this is true then he is lucky he has not ripped off the wrong guy yet. The kind of guy who will hurt him.

if someone asks to borrow money, you should always ask who else they owe and how much.

Maybe I am a bit of an optomist but in my experience, for every douche bag that exists in the online poker world there are 100 players that would walk barefoot through fire to payback any debt owed.

yes agreed here. Even people I strongly dislike seem pretty honorable to me, and even though I hate more than a few people, I would never consider ripping them off or cheating them or not paying them back or whatever. It's just not something I am remotely comfortable with, and all my friends have the same attitude.
