400-800 Hand...Too Aggressive?

I wasn't really involved in this hand but all hell broke loose and I just don't know if I can be this adventurous like I used to anymore to do what this guy did, tell me what you think... 7 handed game, getting more aggressive every hand as people continue to suck out on eachother. LAG UTG player raises, 1 call, solid TAG 3-bets, button who is a high stakes limit holdem regular caps, I'm in the SB with 66 and fold. BB calls 3 more bets and 5 of them see the flop of K106 (of course the 6 flops)... BB checks, UTG bets, next player folds TAG raises, button calls 2 cold, BB now 3-bets, all call, 4 handed to the turn which is 8... BB bets, call, call, button now raises??? all call. River J, everyone checks to button who bets, BB calls along with TAG preflop 3 bettor. Button shows A9 and rakes in a huge pot and looks like a genius. I completely understand capping pre-flop, but the turn raise really? I completely understand that people do this stuff consistently but what happens when you brick? Isn't your variance out the roof? Thoughts...?

Call preflop, you said it was a wild came and your folding PPs PF? You make Tony G cry.

I would only play one street the same as button did.

it's a paper thin turn raise but might be worth it for metagame purposes. should he bet the river if he bricks?

There are 4 players in the pot on the turn, and button has more than 25% equity against their ranges once he turns the gutter.

Re: 400-800 Hand...Too Aggressive?

Its a mistake. But not horrible.

Problem is BB's range is likely

AK,AA,KK,TT..
Given the other tightish player raised, AND button has an ace, TT is very highly weighted in this range.

TT should have zero fear of 79s or KK here, and should snap 3bet.

4 ways, with a set composing 15%+ someone range you might have a 1-3% edge tops.
But if BB 3bets and knocks out the one of the other 2 players, his equity will be hurt that significantly.

Also, by raising the turn , button would win less on a heart river, assuming the BB would have bet/call the river otherwise.

Preflop is fine only if UTG is very loose, cold caller is fairly loose and the TAG is adjusting to UTGs opening range.
Its clearly correct if one of those players plays horrible postflop too (imo)

Couldn't you think of countless terrible plays that aren't as bad as not folding A9 in this spot preflop?

That said, button also missed a cap on the flop.

Btn double gutted on turn.. Stove it vs reasonable ranges and see if he made a bad play or not.

In that case it's solid. Playing with extra cards hidden up your sleeve makes the game much easier.

Button turned a gutter, not a double gutter. Only 7 makes him a straight.
