400-800 Hand

Just sat down, maybe up $4k or so. I'm a new face so I know these players will smell blood in the water and I'm fine with that. Playing 6 handed and I've been in the game for about 30 min playing pretty weak tight. I open raise utg with black QQ, button 3-bets which this could mean anything b/c she wants to isolate the new guy and she's shown down a wide range since I've been there. Flop J84... I check, she bets, I call. Turn A I check she bets again. What's your best play here?

This midstakes grinder thinks: call down; bet/call Q or any spade on the river.

Re: 400-800 Hand

Is this in a mixed game lineup?

c/r the flop.

With the ace and 3rd spade there, call turn and call blank river.

Default play is to donk out a spade river, but against someone who looks like they are trying to "run you over", a check/raise is probabily the best.

most people in your spot donk out the spade on the river, so theres a lot for merit button to bet any spade, AK+ and some of his bad hands like QT/66/77.

Making a c/r infinitely better

No, it wasn't a mixed game. Just a regular old 400-800 limit holdem. First one I've seen in a long time...

Fold preflop because you know the ace is coming on the turn and she will hit the 3 outer.

As played, why not c/r the turn? I dont think u are far behind, could be way ahead, have outs et cetera. and maybe it will chill them out a little bit and they wont be so quick to isolate you.

16 white chips stack nicer than 8 white chips do.

Villian is betting when checked to on flop, spade and ace gets there on turn and villian still bets......we are smoked. Call and pray for a spade and lead river if it hits.
