Re: $200-$400 action 24/7

Probably a daft question, but is it actually a heads up machine or is it just another slot machine done up to look like a HU LHE machine? Does anyone know?

So the people looking for the single full-pay deuces machine in the corner will walk on by, thinking it's just another -EV game, but the drunken tourist will play it thinking it is a video poker game, only to be fleeced by the fiendish AI...?

That's diabolically clever.

Haven't played it anywhere near this high, but from my Video Poker experience any payout of $1200+ triggers a hand pay and a W2G - probably means the machine resets, and the bot always gets the button on the first hand.

Re: $200-$400 action 24/7

i just noticed this thread a couple days ago. it got bumped and it was made around the time 2010 taxes were due. seems to refute the need for a w2g here? what gives?

Key Forms
1) W2-G for casinos, filed only over threshold amount; poker tournaments > $5k;
-for other games, if you win $600 or more on a single bet, hand or play AND your winnings are at least 300 times the amount you bet

That subsection applies to poker and table games - the full section is:

Reportable Gambling Winnings

Report gambling winnings on Form W-2G if:

The winnings (not reduced by the wager) are $1,200 or more from a bingo game or slot machine,

The winnings (reduced by the wager) are $1,500 or more from a keno game,

The winnings (reduced by the wager or buy-in) are more than $5,000 from a poker tournament,

The winnings (except winnings from bingo, slot machines, keno, and poker tournaments) reduced, at the option of the payer, by the wager are:
$600 or more, and
At least 300 times the amount of the wager, or

The winnings are subject to federal income tax withholding (either regular gambling withholding or backup withholding).

From: http://www.irs.gov/instructions/iw2g/ar02.html

Video Poker counts as a "bingo game or slot machine", so I'm assuming that Heads Up Hold Em does as well.
