local poker fails in comparison to nearby blackhawk

I lol'd at your "scoring some mmj on the corner" because it's literally a trivial matter to get a card and go in any of the dispensaries. Banana street salesman are obsolete here

I usually kept a smaller circle of friends or focused more on my gf at the time. Most of the people I was close with were in my fraternity or I new from school. There are still stragglers around, but its pretty easy to get to know new people in boulder. With a little game, parading girls through the place is pretty easy.

not sure if this is in jest or not, but i seem to remember something about a city ordinance where no more than 4~5 unrelated people can live in a house. obviously there are fraternity houses and boarding houses, but they are usually rented by room/appartment with all seperate leases. lording over 15-18 subleases is probably not worth your time. starting some strange "Old School" type poker fraternity would be pretty amusing though.

tbh, if im playing full time next summer and on pace for sne, somthing like a 4bed grindhouse in boulder would be kind of perfect for me. it'd be cool to have a war room and roomies for motivation/competition and to go skiing with. i'd probably take a couple classes in the fall too, and it'd be nice to not commute from a more expensive place in denver.

i used to live across the street from this place: http://boulder.craigslist.org/apa/1953988028.html

kegball in on the highschool field during the summer time. put kegs at home and 2nd and you have to drink each time you reach those locations.

I agree. It would be completely sick.

My plan is to move to Colorado, rent a house and grind poker, and try to get a band together to jam around town.

Do you know how far Blackhawk is from Boulder?

And do you have to be a CO resident to get a card?

... I had a hell of a ****ing time trying to find some smoke. Probably asked like 40 people ffs

45 min drive up into the mountains.

I imagine so, but you would be a resident.

yeah, dont buy dirt weed from randoms on the hill when there are grow houses around growing for the dispensaries.

I have a friend that moved back to CO from Seattle. He plays at blackhawk. Says the games are unreal, and hes the only one that plays for a living that he can see.

this..been here my whole life. i live 10 mins from pearl..quiet and off campus but close enough to go get ridic if you want.

the mmj community is bigger in Boulder than prolly most of the rest of the country imo. if you can't find smoke in Boulder, you're doing it very wrong..this place is total hippie town USA.

i can confirm that more than 3 unrelated people cannot live in the same house so if you're looking to rent something either figure out how to get 4+ people in it without breaking laws etc (especially if you'll be doing banana-related things) or just get something small.

games in blackhawk are super soft from what i've heard and only like 30-40 mins away. i don't play live all that often, but Colorado just upped the max bet earlier this year, and most often everything is pretty crowded so you should be able to get decent action.

also, closest ski resort is ~40 mins away at Eldora Mtn Resort. it's small and kinda meh though. the best skiing around Denver: Winter Park, Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Keystone or Vail. if you wanna drive like 3-4 hrs from Denver/Boulder, Steamboat is fantastic. Crested Butte is 5-6 hrs and prolly the best snow you'll ever ski imo.

you better move out here quick, OP, otherwise these damn fires will burn the whole place down

Is that fire still burning? Did they find out what caused it?

I guess it had just started the morning of the day we got there to visit. Was still burning when we left. We were there for 5 days.
