**SOLD** FS: HD Slingbox w/ HD cables
Slingbox was $300, cables were $45. Selling for $220 plus whatever shipping/fees.
I used it to watch weekday football and baskebtall games on my 3rd monitor at work while I worked late, but I now work for Dr Bob and watching games while working is encouraged, so there's really no reason for me to own this anymore.
Works perfect, and it's a pretty sick product if you've never heard of it.
www.slingmedia.com
I have the most expensive one, the HD one.
PM me if you're interested, I can take paypal, BoA EFT, or Stars.

Re: FS: HD Slingbox w/ HD cables
Could I put the box or whatever at my parents house and watch the local Sports games in a different state?
Does my dad need to be watching the same thing I assume?

Re: FS: HD Slingbox w/ HD cables
You can put it on whatever TV you want and watch it anywhere you can get an internet connection. It would work perfectly for this type of thing.
You can both watch at the same time (him on the TV, you on the comp), but you must be watching the same channel. If either of you changes the channel, it will change for both of you.
Unless you (like me) have roommates who like to **** with you by changing it to the Bible Channel whenever they think you're not paying attention, this hasn't really been an issue in my experience.
My buddy is in Brazil and downloaded the slingbox software and uses my slingbox to watch Cal games on Saturdays.

Re: FS: HD Slingbox w/ HD cables
I'm kind of a technology moron, so sorry for the dumb questions.
Does the slingbox just need to be hooked up to my receiver, or does it have to be hooked up to my receiver and an internet connection?
Is the slingbox compatible with all of the DirecTV HD receivers, or only certain ones?
Thanks

I would check out the website, just to be sure, so I don't steer you wrong. I believe it has to be hooked up to an internet connection as well, although there are slingbox attachments that you can buy which somehow circumvent that.
It should be compatible with all of your DirecTV HD receivers.

Re: FS: HD Slingbox w/ HD cables
I am interested, but I need to read details about the box first and how it works. Can you send me a PM with the price you are expecting with FTP + vig + shipping?
Thanks, I will try to get back to you ASAP.

Re: FS: HD Slingbox w/ HD cables
Slingboxes are sick. I'd buy this if I had any money right now.
For those who don't understand
Basically you plug this into your cablebox/tivo/DVR, whatever. You also plug in an internet connection.
The slingbox has an IR blaster that allows you to change cablebox channels remotely. The Slingbox encodes whatever video signal it is receiving from the cablebox (the same thing that would be shown on the TV plugged into the cable box) and sends it across the internet, automatically adjusting quality to suit available bandwidth.
An iphone client is also expected to be released soonish (it's been submitted to apple already). This will allow you to watch your Tivo on your iphone. ship it holla

Re: FS: HD Slingbox w/ HD cables
Can anyone who has one comment on the quality/video size/speed? I will be using my university wired internet connect for the dorms so the internet connection speed is pretty fast so that won't be a problem. The internet connection where the TV is located is Verizon FIOS which is is pretty decent I guess.

Re: FS: HD Slingbox w/ HD cables
I should point out that I went home yesterday and realized that this is the Slingbox Pro (supports HD) 200-100, not the 300-100. It's basically the same as the HD-Pro, just an earlier version, and has all the same features.
In accordance, I've dropped the price to $190 plus fees.
It's the one pictured here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Slingbox-Pro-SB2...3%3A1|294%3A50
Still available, but lots of interest
Remember, it comes with the $45 HD Cables as well for free!
