Are you sure? I received a payment yesterday and it was sent as a gift. Im not sure if he put other but I was charged. Paypal is doing away with the free sending

Weird for me as well, sometimes its free, other times I get charged 3%... Don't know if that's random or what. (I'm the sender usually)

If you send the payment from a bank account it's free. If paid by credit card you're charged 3%

I've only dealt with Paypal as far as getting paid for work I've done. I've seen on other forums where people request that funds be sent to them via Paypal gift for items sold where the seller is not charged.

This is correct. The buyer just has to select "other" and then "gift" and then the seller is not charged any fees.

Now I believe the buyer can't dispute anything in this case so they should be sure they trust the seller.

Just to clarify, it is free if you already have the funds in your account then send as an "other" type. If you do not have the funds in your Paypal account and use a credit card to pay it, you will be charged the fees whether you send as a gift, payment owed, or any other type of payment!!
