Had it about a year? Can you be more precise? You can always enter the service tag number on Dell's support page to verify date and warranty status.


Cost for the replacement hinge/lcd bezel kit is around $50 FYI.

not to knock you but using "it has win7" as a selling point is pretty moot in this day and age - I have win7 on another cpu and didn't pay a cent for it.

FYI besides the hinge (which I fixed in 30 mins) and having to unexpectedly replace the DVD drive, unit was in working order. Received system in 3 days.

just curious...how well was it packed? the chick at the ups store said they would box it for me, so i didnt have any part in it. it was insured for $300, however, so i wasnt worried

and like i mentioned in the other thread, ill ship the $ to replace the dvd drive since im an idiot and completely forgot that the faceplate was missing due to me be being used to it in that condition that for so long

It was packed exceptionally well. All things considered, it was in great shape. Just needed a little TLC.

Appreciate the offer on the DVD drive. What say we split the cost? Since I didn't have to buy a new LCD/bezel as originally anticipated.

No it isn't. Betas aside, Win7 has only been out for something like 6 months, so most of the used laptops you find are still running XP or Vista.

That's not the point I was making.

You might want to rethink that, because doing something stupid like suggesting no one has to pay for software because they can get pirated versions instead is liable to get you an infraction.
