That does look very nice.
I'm certainly no baller, but since I can get a nice HD one for less than $250 I think it's worth it. If I do this I'm going to do it a lot. If I give up because I don't like it or whatever then yeah I will have wasted my investment. But I could see getting the ~$80 non HD one and if I get hooked I'll buy the HD one anyway so I may as well just buy it first.
The other issue Deorum addressed. I'm basically investing an extra $140 or so on top of the cheaper ones to have HD and no regrets. Not that I'm knocking your decision. And I suppose one could argue that if you're good enough and interesting enough to build an audience with HD, then you should be good enough to do it without it.
I think what I'm going to start doing is recording myself with my digital camera doing live commentaries. Then I'll watch it back and even though I won't have the game to watch I'll remember what was going on and be able to work on my presentation or whatnot.
I figure it might be a good way to sort of gauge my interest over a period of several weeks.
