Very true and appreciate you mentioning this, and again I'm glad and thank you for mentioning it to me because initially I was like wtf? And now I'm like wtf was I thinking.

Well thats obviously not true...we have an example of a non cheater in this thread doing it, Silverman. He did it, didn't realize the ethical implications, and has been directed on the straight and narrow.

You lost? Didn't think that was possible. Were you giving back pots to people who mucked?

If I snag a free Sunday paper on the way out of the lobby and as we get in the car you tell me that it was actually a dollar for a paper, did a non thief just steal a paper? People can make honest mistakes and do unethical things. Only cheats would intentionally miscall their hands to steal the pot at showdown. How is that unclear? Of course intention matters.

Think about a spot where I flip my cards and the dealer incorrectly awards me the pot.
  1. I'm not paying attention and don't realize what has happened.
  2. I see he's wrong, but don't speak up.
  3. I do something to help him make the mistake
2 out of 3 are clearly cheating. The last is worse than the second. The first is wrong, but is inattention rather than cheating - everyone should pay attention. An honest person could do 1 but not 2 or 3. As an observer, it could be hard to distinguish between 1 and 2.

I was talking about situation where people miscalled hand. Example, had Silverman announced full house and fast rolled his hand I would consider that cheating.

That's much worse. It was also SOP for some Bellagio regs back in the day. Learned the hard way to never release a hand until their hands were face up and clearly shown to be what was declared.

I was trying to give examples of intent making the same actions mistakes vs actual theft.

Costly but fun first hand from last night...

I post in HJ... folded to me with 3h4h, I check my option...CO calls, villain #1 OTB (fishy loose passive older guy raises), and villain #2 in BB very good youngish asian reg calls.

Flop 335r

villain 2 checks, Hero leads, CO folds, Villain 1 raises, Villain 2 calls 2 bets, hero 3's, both call.

Turn - 4..... BOOM!

Villain 2 donks, hero raises, Villain 1 calls, villain 2 makes it 3, (oh no), hero calls, villain 1 calls.

river- J

Villain 2 bets, I spew raise pretty sure he has pocket 5's, villain 1 folds, villain 2 3 bets and I call and he flips over 55

And HB this is for you...

Hero raises 3s2s like UTG +2

SB calls and has less than 1.5 bets left....BB calls.

flop- K63

SB puts in his last 2 chips, BB folds, and I toss in 2 chips...

turn - 3

River- 3

And villain has K4 or whatever.

This isn't even close to the right action...

Action was: Folds to you in hj you check co (me) folds btn raises sb calls bb calls you call.

Flop 335

Checks to you. You lead. Btn calls. Sb calls. Bb raises. you threebet. Btn folds. Sb calls. Bb calls.

Turn 4

Checks to you. You bet. Sb calls. Bb raises. You 3bet. Sb calls. Bb caps. Call. Call.

River J
Check. Bet. Raise. Fold. Call.

POPE - I deposited on Bovada, and every table I play on I type in the chat "POPE ARE YOU HERE." Hoping you respond but no response. Are you playing 30/60 or what?

I play once or twice a week, for an hour or two. Usually Fri or Sat night between 9pm and 1am. And I play 30/60 if I have had some drinks. So far that is working out amazingly well, as the only limits above 1/2 I am up money at are 8/16 and 30/60. Ran my last ~$120 deposit up to close to 4k by playing drunk with 10-15 bet roll at first.

Do yourselves a favor and play some PLO while on there.
I liken it to the LHE days on party.

So...yeah...I'm ****housed right now and finished up 677 in about an hour.

I saw my pocket 3's friend and from the other day and called him from the game to tell him about the hand from the other day and he hadn't heard about 2+2 (so I'm thinking in my head damn I totally could have gotten away with this) haha jk

So I ended up giving him 100$ back and going to give him the other 80 where he works, because we actually ran into each other outside of a place I go get these amazeballs vegan smoothies at this place called "Kaleidescope," which is next to where he works in Old Town. Go and get the Immortal Machine...they are 10 bucks but sooooooooooooooooooooo good and addictive.

He was totally cool about it like I expected and definitely felt good about how it ended up.

So I'm up about 450 or so and it is a kill pot and I get dealth aces. And right as I get dealt them security is right behind me and is like dude, your chick has to go, so as I'm raising I'm like "yeah hold on I just got dealth aces and the whole table easily hears me...

one good player raises me OTB I think., and i obviously cap...

flop comes like JQ4 all clubs...

c, I bet, call...

turn - I have no idea but it isn't a club...and I look back and there is no club in my hand so I say I don't have a club and check

villain bets I

actually i cant remember the action but at some point i just called i think it was on the turn, then villain checked river and i bet and he called.

Table loved it when i tabled aces seeing that I had told the truth to security about taking my drunk date home since she got kicked out after playing my aces that I had announced. )))
