Summary of 6th December ----> 23th December

Pretty aggressive bankrollmanagement which was rewarding hugely at first. Starting with $200 at PLO15, It grew to $3450 and back landing on $2400 for the month. Played mostly PLO15/30 and some 60/75 aswell. Very happy with this month and hopefully its just a forecast of what to follow.

Poker Goals & Plan for 2013

Stage 1

Im starting with $750 and Ill be playing PLO30 until Ive reached $1.800 and being rolled for a 10 buyin shot at PLO60/75. If my shot attempt failes, I move back down and grind the 10 buyins again.

Stage 2

Taking a successfull shot at PLO60/75 and grow the roll to a total of 50 buyins for PLO75 ($3.750). Once Im there, I will grow my roll to $5.250 at PLO75 and take a 10 buyin shot at PLO150.

Stage 3

If my shot is successfull, I will keep playing PLO150 until I have 60 buyins ($9.000). After that, I will grind 10 buyins for PLO230 for a total of $11.300 and go for the next level.

Stage 4

I will stick to PLO230 until I got 75 buyins ($17.250) and then Ill get working on the next 10 buyin shot, which will be at PLO300.

Stage 5

At this point Im looking to have 83 buyins for PLO300 ($25.000), so if the shot is working out, I will be looking to be playing at this level a bit.

Stage 6

PLO460 is the next level and I will require 100 buyins ($46.000) to be considered grinding this stake.

Stage 7

Last and final stage is PLO600, which will require a roll of 200 buyins ($120.000) of me to be regular at this level.

Estimated time: ~1 year.

-----------------------------

This all sounds easy but it wont be. Im required to:
  • Be playing tons and tons of hands
  • Be active whenever the best value is there, day or night
  • Sacrifice social activities
  • Maintain a relationship with my girlfriend
  • Study/play in a ratio of 1:3
  • Be very honest with my game and to myself

This thread will be somewhat of a core of my poker. Its here where Ill be posting my daily schedules. I will also post reviews of articles/books/videos Ill be watching. I will also have daily "homework" which I will post and report back after the day is over. Im also currently working on building a network of similar minded people who will boost my learning curve and help me out whenevers needed.

I also think its important to know why you want something. If you dont have good enough reasons, you wont follow trough when it gets tough. A vision board helps keeping me focused and make sure I stay on the right track every day. So I will also spend alot of time on the mental aspects of the game.

This is what I want with my poker for the coming year, and since im too excited to wait 1 week, Im starting tomorrow (24th december) Hope you guys will follow me on this climb and see how it works out. Merry christmas!

Played alot today but a little dissapointed with losing focus towards the end of last session. Think I needed a break earlier because it was a kinde dull period but I played the full length anyway. Other then that, its been two good days so far and hopefully I can keep this pace up. Will post later on a couple of hand analyzes Ive done and see what you guys think about it.

Graph this far (PLO30)

Didnt sleep in an attempt to turn back my sleeping routines a bit, so played alot of poker. Unfortunately I dropped 10 buyins but I played pretty well so doesnt matter. Just ran bad in 3bet pots and getting sucked out on a couple of times. Something that is very positive is that I really dont get upset about it. I understand its variance and I rather look at how I played then the result. So Im still in stage 1, trying to build the roll big enough for taking shots at PLO60. Currently sitting at $1.000 so basically need to double it in order to be ready. Looking forward to sleeping later though, very tired at the moment . Tomorrow will be alot of grind. Will also post the promised hand analyzes at some point, still need to work on them.

Thanks dude, means alot .

Im just copying others. Anyone who succeeded at something all said that they worked hard. They also said having alot of passion is key so Im trying to apply those two things in anything I do, and right now I wanna do poker.

Im applying a new approach to my session management:

Session Management
  • 10 minutes warmup
  • 90 minutes of play
  • 60 minutes of session review

I will use this model the first period now and see how it works. My goals is to work my way up to around 180 minutes of playing and 80 minutes of session reviews, but that will take a while to get used to. So Im increasing the amount of time step by step and hopefully Im at my goal time at mars.

going to be using a schedule too , if I dont use one it usually leads me to play more when down + less when up, same with studying

personally I like to wait with my HH review until I have finished my grinding for the day

Yepp schedule is a nice tool to keep some planning for the day. Otherwise its easy to drift off playing video games or whatever. I like the idea of finishing a session with reviewing trouble hands, it gíves you closure and you can move on with other stuff you want to do. Sucks to be buggered all day by a hand you cant stop thinking about. So I rather make an evaluation stragight away and let it go/post it.

60 minutes After every session is a bit too much I guess. Why not do a 20 mins warmup and a 60/90 min session review in the end of the day ?

GL btw.
How much tables do you play ? (sorry if asked before, I don't remember)

Im feeling comfortable with 10 minutes, doesnt take me longer to get into the right state to be honest. Some good music, reviewing goals, checking out some PLO related stuff gets my mind focused and it doesnt take that long. But sure, Im hoping to add stuff to my warmup when I feel it will contribute with something . Also with the reviewing, it usually dont take one hour but I want to make sure I got the time if its needed. Sometimes I played a session and didnt find any trouble spot at all. Fine, then it only took one minute to go trough. Another session I might be getting headaches about all the spots so I might need the full hour. So its different for every session. however one hour max, then I need to break.

Thanks for the luckwishes. Playing 5 tables at once.

Just finished for the day, up 10 buyins and felt/played good. Only 10 more buyins away from taking a shot at PLO60. So Im very much looking forward to that and tomorrow will be alot of poker for sure. Will also try to get all my hands to one computer so I can post a graph as soon as possible. Maybe tomorrow if I manage to get the time!
