Made a nice comeback this month and then lost half of it back, felt like I wasn't playing too badly though and it was mostly running bad situation wise + calling down a little too much.
April:
Started playing a little on ipoker as well, mostly HU and really enjoying it. A lot of really passive 'regs' sitting waiting on HU tables. Keeping on with the 50nl grind on Stars as well.
Preparing to put in a big month and hoping to be pushing for 100nl by the end of it. Going to combine 6-max 50NL, HU 50NL and a combination of both 50 and 25NL Zoom. I would like to get into a habit of playing a small 25NL Zoom session before I start playing at 50NL just to get myself into the swing of things. I think this will eliminate some early spew that I seem to have at the start of a lot of sessions.
Hope everyone is well
Oh just wanted to post two fish going at it today:
Sucks when your Zoom warm up session leaves you down $100 to start with...
Played well at 50nl though, just had bad board run outs, nut flush and then the board pairs, book on the turn and then some dude rivers quads. So reasonably happy. Probably going to have a live session tonight.
Graph of 50NL so far:
Obviously ran pretty good to start with but I feel like I have an edge for sure. Looking back at this thread I notice that my bet sizing is really bad in a lot of hands, something I think I've already improved a lot. But, I feel like I'm still missing value in some spots because of it.
I assume your thinking when making the 4bet was "He would never 3bet a value hand on this flop, so he must have chit > I RIESE" correct?
Yeah exactly, I think he'd probably flat most if not all of his value range there. Also my initial raise looks pretty FOS so I was expecting him to play back a good %. My plan was to barrel most board run outs if he flats to try and and get him off Kx, do you think that's +ev? Guy was just a standard reg.
Had a live session last night, ran really well to start with and got my stack from $150 (max buy-in) up to around $400 but then got really bored and dumped it all back. Was there by myself and my phone went dead so I had nothing to entertain me. It was a good lesson though, usually I don't like thinking in terms of "oh I should have left earlier" but in spots like that where I'm up and not feeling like putting in a solid grind and being patient then I should just leave.
Only around $120 of it was bad play though, lost about $80 when some really weird Croatian dude limp/shoved A5o into my JJ and spiked.
Had AK on the BTN and iso'd a bunch of limpers like I had been doing quite a bit, one of the limpers calls and says it's 'cause he's "curious" flop comes AJTr and he donks into me for 1/2 pot. I just flat, we were both relatively deep and he didn't really buy me for a strong hand 'cause I had been iso'ing a tonne. Turn comes a 7 (don't remember suit) and he checks. Which at the time I presumed was 'cause he wasn't super strong as he should really barrel there with most value hands but I was kind of intoxicated and not really able to work out a range for him, so I checked behind. River comes 4o and he leads for a little more than 1/2 pot again. His line looks really bluffy I think and he can have like a weaker A that thinks he's good now after I check behind turn so I call and he turns over 89o for a straight.
Last hand was when I had around $100 left and just wanted to double up or leave basically the same guy as above blind raises utg for $9 and I 3bet to $23 with K5, he flats and flop comes K95r I bet 1/2 pot he flats, turns a J I shove for my remaining $50 and he snaps and shows QTo.

Flop c/r is probably +ev but I don't think barreling turn+river if he flats your c/r is going to be good. Since you're FOS he's not folding Kx . Maybe if it was a KT7r board and turn was 9 or something, I would keep bluffing since we still have KT/TT/77 and now some straight draws got there as well so it isn't a happy call for him when he holds AK.

Not so experienced in the c/r area though
GL with the grind!
Thanks man!
Okay just had my first session in about a week, been pretty busy. Started out at ipoker playing HU then moved on to Stars when the action died down to play 6-max. Pretty sure I was playing bots on ipoker but they were so bad that it didn't bother me.
Some hands,
Not sure about my turn bet sizing? Both villains were fish.

KQ hand I bet like $44 - $49 on the turn and shoving most rivers. When he donks river I probably just call since he likely doesnt donk/call Qx or something like that.
54s I fold vs the minraise. Stupid regs can do this with TT/9x and they sometime slowplays premiums pre. Don't give him too much credit for bluffing assuming he is a 'weak reg'.

Keep it up!
Yeah KQ hand I just felt like he was on a flush draw nearly always there and thought afterwards that I need to bet a lot more 'cause he's going to call anyway. But eh it's not like I priced him in or anything. Just would have been nice to make it worse of a call by him.
54s is definitely a kind of spot that I get carried away with. I find myself kicking myself for getting into them because I don't buy their flop raises.
Just finished my second session for the day,
Started out paying people off like always then grinded back a profit.
Feel like my mindset is getting really strong lately, I still get into stupid spots though. I need to think more about value/bluff ratios when assessing opponents ranges. Sometimes I find myself just hoping they're bluffing in some pots, when even if they are it's probably not a +ev call down anyway 'cause people don't really bluff that much in big pots, so I'm going to be wrong too often.
Keep it up, dude. Been reading your posts and it sounds like you have a solid grasp on the game. Looking forward to seeing how April turns out for you.

Thanks! glad to hear I don't sound completely clueless.
Didn't play much today, had soccer tonight and then spent an hour or two getting hem set up for playing on enet.
Hopefully I can get up early enough for a session before work tomorrow.

Made some terrible plays too tonight, but I feel like they are just mistakes I have to make along the way to learn from. Really happy with my mindset, as this session didn't bother me at all.
Going to see my football (Australian football) club play tonight against probably our biggest rivals. We're in with a good chance of beating them for the first time in a few years. Have some bets on the game too, which I guess I'll write here for the hell of it.
-$20 on Carlton (my team) to win by +9 @ $2.11
-$20 on quarter's to go Collingwood/Carlton/Collingwood/Carlton @ $51
-$5 on Kane Lucas to kick the first goal @ $31
-$5 on Dayne Beams to kick the first goal @ $17
-$5 on A Fasolo to kick the first goal @ $14
-$5 on Kade Simpson to get more possessions than a set group of players @ $5.50
Hmm didn't realise I went for some many first goal kickers, I think the pay off is good enough to justify it though...probably.
