Goals from yesterday:

Quote:
1. 8 miles exercise bike (this is reduced because my parents are already nagging me about lunch).
2. 60 minutes uni work.

3. 1 poker video with notes (might start watching the YourDoom series even though it seems terrible).
4. 2k hands.
5. Below net calorie goal for the day.
Reasonably good day yesterday. The tables were ridiculously soft yesterday but I still ended up down a few BI. Somehow when the tables are soft I lose, or at least that's how it's worked recently. Some hands:

1) This one's here for the lol value, though I was unsure about river sizing vs whale.

Goals for today:

1. 9 miles exercise bike.
2. Below net calorie goal for the day.
3. 60 minutes uni work.
4. 1 chapter of TMGOP.
5. 2k hands.

Goals from last week:

Quote:
1. Cycle a total of at least 60 miles.
2. Completely revise two topics for collections.
3. 12k hands.
4. Lose 4 lbs - will know later but I think this is going to end up being 2 or 3.
5. Record two theory videos for Grinder School. - 1/2
6. Look into buying flopzilla, if so, play around with cold calling ranges against various positions on various board textures. (didn't buy it)

Goals for this week:

1. Revise two topics for collections.
2. Do at least three pieces of reading for extended essay.
3. 12k hands.
4. Stop playing every time I feel I'm spewing.
5. Lose 4 lbs.

Last week's graph (not a pretty sight; I also played a bunch of 2NL/5NL at Full Tilt between stakes but that's not really going to show up on here even if I go to the trouble of adding aliases):

4lbs in a week is a tough goal and unsustainable; 2lbs in a week is crushing and a much more reasonable target imo. GL with it though, it's a tough grind but with the right mental state you can really shed.

Drink lots of water, that's the best advice I can offer. I lost 2.5 stone last summer by just eating super healthy and walking absolutely everywhere, but I couldn't have done it without smashing like 3-4 litres of water a day to keep me from feeling hungry and lethargic.

GLGL with everything!

Hands 3,4,6 are misplayed pretty badly imo.

3- Villain can, and should have 4x here, and even if he doesnt, overbetting is losing a ton of value from draws, 9x, Tx etc that would have called a normal bet.

4-Villain should be snapping Ax and its seems redic to think otherwise, the river is a card that helps his range waay more than your own, and since villain has a bunch of missed draws, i would expect you to be cc river a decent amount.

6- Ez fold, its a huge assumption to only think villain only has flushes that include Ac or Kc, and even if that is true. no one bluffs like this

He's opening from MP against ( I think can't really remember ) fairly nitty players in the blinds, so hero's range is pretty wide and isn't really weighted towards broadway cards, V shouldn't expect H to have too many Jacks in his range since he bet the turn and any jack would never be getting called by worse. Thus, the rivered jack means that it's less likely that H has AJ and given the combinatorics, and the number of missed draws, a snap call.

I noticed Hero does this quite a bit, barrelling cards which are not suitable to barrel without really thinking about ranges.

Looking at hand 5, it's so tragic how people only ever raise the turn with the nuts/near nuts. I would put that guy on 99, 44 or QQ without hesitation, possibly a slowplayed AA too. Who are these players kidding when they make these raises?

But I can imagine playing JTh in the same way with a solid image for that very reason.

Hands 1,2,3,4 are wtf misplayed, what is dg4 teaching you (or maybe you should listen to him more such that you can fix these leaks)

H1- I would personally bet the turn but its not awful to check I guess but not raising the river bet is just sooo bad.

H2- isnt that bad, but I would def min raise the river given villains sizing and bc he come have a bunch of 2pair combos, and no one at this limit will exploit you etc

H3-I mean why would he ever check KKK or a hand like tjat on the flop? Not raising the river, especially given his sizing is throwing money away.

H4- at least you raised the river but jamming is lolbad, just raise 3x or something such that he actually has a calling range that you beat.

Overall it seems like you dont like to raise fold the river which is weird since no one will exploit you

JTh, JQhh, QTh, plus the obv value combos of 44, 99, QQ and we're onto something? But problem that then develops is that if hero is folding OPs here, we def shouldn't be playing our value hands like this. Perplexing.

It's cleary in a exploitive fold based on villain never bluffing, or hardly.

With that in mind, i'd not worry about balance and how far we are up in our range as much.

I guess this spot mostly comes down to reads and history, but if I thought I had a nitty image in hero's eyes, I'd deffo have a bunch of semibluff combos here because my range looks so, so strong here.

0.0001% of villains are thinking on this level at 50nl. All they're thinking is "lol, i has FH/quads, raise turn for max value, this guy is never folding a pair". It's also Zoom where most villains play incredibly straight forward, for the most part.
