sup, decided to start up a new thread. Have had a few threads in the past but it's been a while since I was around these pgc waters. Am hoping this one brings me some more motivation, accountability and work ethic.

I'm 24 and live in Australia. I started playing MTTs in 2013 and have stayed true to them since, except for a phase of hunl which I was hoping to have as a side game until amaya ruined it. I've been in makeup for a little over a year now and it's been fluctuating between 18k-45k as I haven't been able to string together a bunch of scores to clear it. Right now we're sitting around 35k but with a huge month incoming, lots of shots and opportunities to do well. However, if this month doesn't go so great I won't let it get me down, I will only feel down if I don't put in my best effort. I would honestly rather have a losing May with a great winrate and be really proud of my play then win a bunch and feel like I played B game. I tilt 100x harder if I make a mistake then if I take a bad beat. This is where my head is atm and I like it. I'm part of a great group that has had a tonne of success lately and it feels like the sky really is the limit.

I will take this scoop more seriously than I have any of the others and really try to get into a routine early on in the month and stick to it. My sessions are usually something like 9pm-6am or 4am-1pm which makes it almost impossible to have a good body clock. It's too easy to stay up late just one night and then miss playing normal games for 2 or 3 days while you re-adjust. Really can't afford to let that happen during May so I'll have a huge focus on that this month and will be giving myself bed times for the first time since I was a kid. Every day is gonna be up and at em!

Feeling really motivated, playing the best I ever have, winrates really starting to climb and I'm playing the highest stakes I ever have. I'm excited to see what happens this year

Cheers guys! and thanks Marty, am forever indebted to you for picking me out here on 2p2 back in the day, would be a rec fish working a 9-5 if not for you!

Had a good session yesterday, did well in the Super Tuesdays. 60th in the 1k for a mincash and finished the session FTing the 320. Was short itm but really put on a clinic f2t and came in 1/9. FT was pretty standard, two hands I want to go over that I may have stuffed up vs an old school hu guy. Eventually busted A8<AQ vs gusmaa.

Took the day off today and sat around watching family guy, wrote up a sched for the month with all the main series stuff on stars/888/party, and took my dog Marley for a walk.

Did some reading too. atm reading High Fidelity by Nick Hornby and Interrogations by Richard Overy. the latter is super interesting and is basically about the interviews that took place with Nazis/war criminals after WWII before the Nuremberg trials. Interesting mix of stories, some caving in immediately and claiming their actions were under the duress of being in the Nazi regime, some claimed memory loss (most were lying) to avoid having to say anything. Others just made up complete stories to waste the enemies time, but some, especially higher ranking guys who knew the war was truly gg, were more open to talking and even felt a sense of freedom and relief and used the interviews as a chance to vent.

Will have an early night tonight and be up by 4am for the thrill, then go into study/prep mode until the weekend when scoop begins!

SCOOP Day 1
Monday 9th May

Man today was pretty terrible, my biggest losing day ever. Had about 10k in buyins and it was pretty much all brick city. Most games started off nicely winning lots of pots but then I'd get coolered or lose a big flip. Was getting pretty miserable towards the end of the session, feeling sorry for myself and my lack of runs. Lots of annoying **** in all the biggest stuff I played, ran way below ev, just a really really frustrating first day but need to remember I'm just one of many feeling the same way about today. It's a long month, tomorrows a new day, blah blah all that stuff...

Event #1
H: $1,050 [750k]
M: $109 Sunday Kickoff
L: $11 [100k]

Woke up slightly late and didn't feel like late regging the 1k. Q5<55 on Q-7-5 in the 109, fired 2 more bullets with no luck.

Event #2
H: $2,100 PSKO
M: $215 PSKO
L: $27 PSKO

2k started out great, was winning a lot of small pots and liked my spot at the table. Then had a big hand where I 3b pre and had to B B X with QQ on 9-8-4-2-9 and he has 97o. Was pretty much downhill after that. Eventually Q9s<KJ with 12bb btn vs sb.

The 215 was fun, was stacked the whole time. Won a big 4 way all in with QQ vs KK/AK/33 to be freerolling the tourney from bounties. Eventually had a close spot vs jam with 88, called and lost to 99. Didn't recover and came 270th for $700 after bounties.

Event #4
H: $2,100 [1m]
M: $215 Sunday Million
L: $27 [200k]

This 2k was a collection of frustrating spots followed by AK<KK vs jdpc. That's about it.
Ran nut flush draw into middle set in the 215 for an okay pot.
Was killing it in the low until AJ<KJ on J-8-6 and then JJ<KK<AK.

Event #5
H: $700 6max
M: $82 6max

L: $7.50 6max

Had a great table in this. Was a fast structure early on though so didn't get too much play. Lost AA<TT for 25bb. Congrats to Aussie imluckbox for shipping the thing for 140k!

It took me a few bullets in the 82 but I did get a stack and go deepish. Played some nice poker along the way, really enjoyed this tournament. Eventually c4b jammed TT into openers QQ and busted 124th for $340. gg to poker friend of mine who went on to win this one for 50k!

Other Notable Events
Played some other nice non-scoop tournies, 1k Sunday Grand, 700 PSKO, 530 Party HR, 320 Baby Whale.. bricks all round. AK<AT at the end of the session in the 1k Grand basically for cash was the most tilting part of my day. And JJ<AK in the 700 sucked too but std whatever.

Cashes:
02-M: $215 PSKO - 270th/5k for $700
04-M: $82 6max - 124th/4.5k for $335

and nothing else

SCOOP Day 2
Tuesday 10th May

Played a small session today, just the SCOOPs, the Monday 6max majors, big 55 and a 109 6max. Going to review hands this afternoon and chill out, looking forward to tomorrow.

Event #7
M: $82+R [100k]
L: $7.50+R [50k]

Got lucky 88>JJ early on in the 82 but ended up building stacks in both of these only to bust both of them very close to cash in standard spots.

Event #8
M: $109 Heads Up
L: $11 Heads Up

Lost the 109 vs quite an ambitious call when I was bluffing. Ended up one tabling the $11 and decided to get a bit chatty in the chat box, made for some interesting hands. Last hand I 3b A9 off 23bb vs his 50bb and snap when he jams his K8o, as you do. Q-J-2-3. At this point I type in 'lol' and so obv river comes an 8 gg

SCOOP Day 3
Wednesday 11th May

Another low table count laid back grind today with just a few games played. Actually finding it hard to play other sites atm with all the stars stuff and wanting to focus on scoop. Should still try fire a few more things. Played the scoops and a couple others Big 55, 215 Fat Thursday, Hot 22, 55 Builder.

Event #10
H: $1,050 Super Tuesday
M: $109 [300k]
L: $11 [100k]

1k started off nicely losing a pot with KK to T9 on Kh-Jh-6h-Q-8. Recovered back to above starting stack after KK>JJ. Got shortish again then won 77>AA for a small one. Kept running lots of my good hands into slightly better ones, bluffs got called, value bets didnt, one of those days. Won AK>QQ to hang in there for a bit and then busted in this hand vs KKremate

He minraises utg 9 handed, HJ calls, I call Btn AQo with 40bb, big blind completes. Ah-8h-5s. checks to me on btn. I bet, bb folds, KKremate raises, other guy folds, just me and him now. Guys a sicko and very capable of running a bluff and putting me to the test here. I expect him to check with AA and check raise 88/55, he'll get in enough combos of bluffs to make it work but I worry about whether he has the ones we need him to have (to make calling okay) in this particular spot where hes opened utg. Turn Ah-8h-5s-7x. I have pot left, he jams. I think AK just fires 3 streets on the flop and he doesn't use that as a xr so overall I'm feeling pretty good with AQ. I still expect him to have a few things here we beat and really had my fingers crossed for the T9ss ball. This time he had the 88 gg

Edit: I think it's closer than I first thought in-game. Def standard if he had opened from later position and had wider range or if the board was higher like AT8. It being a lower board of A85 just gives him less bluffs though when you consider his utg opening range... If the worst suited connector he opens pre is like T8s then this hand has prob gotta be a fold, then again maybe he adjusts for that and uses this line with enough flush draws to make it okay? I think based on the stats I had like his ep rfi etc that it's atleast very close/prob okay.

As for the $109, lost AKhh vs JJ very early on when I opened EP, SB called and lead 60% pot all 3 streets on A-A-J-7-3. Hung in there a bit longer before KJ<AJ. Chipped up early in the $11 from JJ>33 and eventually c4b shoved a suited wheel Ax in a nice spot and lost to AJs.

Cashes: 1/9

SCOOP Day 4
Thursday 12th May

Woke up at midnight and played the shootouts. Really fun format, had a lot of fun. Would consider it another rough day though overall given how the 700 went. Was in a bad mood because of it but managed to turn it around, put in a study session, and then another small grind, which I just finished. Will finish the night with latest ep of Game of Thrones and then get to sleep, back up at 3am for the 1k Thrill.

Event #12
M: $215 Shootout 6max
L: $27 Shootout 6max

Only lasted like 25 hands in the $215. Tried a big bluff in a bvb pot where I limpcall pre, check call flop, check raise turn and shove river, against philroyal888 and he had a pretty easy call with AhQx on 7-7-5h-Qh-4h.

Won my first match in the $27 really quickly as it was just me and one other guy! lucky table draw. Played really well in the next match and had a table of guys just doing the most random stuff. Eventually got them all to tow the line and behave, finished them off and showed no mercy.

Next match starts and I lose a massive one right away and am left with 9bb. Btn opens, I defend 96o and flop comes Ts-8s-7. I check raise, he calls. Kx on the turn, I fire, he calls. On the river its Ts-8s-7-K-9 and its fml.
I check, he jams pretty quickly. It's not like I'm snap folding sets and 2 pairs so I feel I have to really consider, and prob end up calling with the 6x straights. I really wish the river was a spade so it would make things easier but I ended up hoping for missed spades and called, ****er had JJ, nh.

Event #13
H: $700 PSKO
M: $82 PKO 8max

L: $7.50 Hyper PSKO Ultra Deep

So the $700 today... I actually wasn't even really feeling it today but decided to see if I could grab a good seat about half an hour in, if so I'd take it as a sign to play. Ended up being only TWO tables of 8 in the lobby and each one looked really soft with 1 or 2 regs and zero crushers. So it was an easy snap register and I settled in for the grind. and then this happens and the days ruined

http://www.boomplayer.com/en/poker-h...061_05B600621E

Think he had a really nice bounty on his head for that point of the tourn too like $600+. Standard beat but I was 2 tabling most of the session, really giving this tournament my all. Was yelling at the screen "don't you dare!" as it ran out... and then just sat there shaking my head super oi and insta decided to not reg on, was mostly done for the day anyway. I'd been down to 4bb at bb200 and launched a sick comeback before that hand, winning that would've set me up nicely for the tournament with such an amazing structure. I guess I feel really due and look at every beat in these events as another event/chance/opportunity gone, it's causing me to put way too much importance on them, it's making them sting that little extra bit. Just wish I could be running nicely and getting some nice cashes together, instead of having to sweat all ins like AK vs AQ so damn hard.

Think I'm going to make a conscious effort to stop watching boards run out, just look away and close the table if I don't have chips left afterwards. Once the decisions been made to call or shove that should be the end of it. Shouldn't be sitting around annoyed for a few mins after every big beat, but this WAS a $700 scoop so whatever I'll have a little whinge

In the $82 I 4b shipped JJ into AKs for 32bb and couldn't hold. I really liked that tournament though, being progressive ko instead of progressive super ko, also 8max. Wish more of these scoop tournies were re-entrys.

Forgot about the low cause I don't have hypers in my filter, remembered too late and missed late reg.

Cashes: 4/10
$27 Shootout 6max, Big $55, $55 PKO 6max and 6th $109 Turbo.
