Hi all,

I am SteTruce, I have been playing a lot during the past years with some decent results every now and then. I do really like to play poker, especially SNGs, MTTSNGs and MTTs. As I do have a daily job and family, I cannot play all day/every day. I will play mostly night time and weekends.
Although I have lots of leaks in my game (which I am constantly trying to correct), I think my biggest weakness is bankroll management. I do not mind to play sundays small MTTs even if I did not have the appropriate bankroll for them. However, this year I hope that I will improve on this side and be more strict. Therefore, I will play my games trying to constraint myself to the current bankroll (although I will to play some big SSMTTs on sundays and bigger MTTs when I win satellites).
Here some graphs:

I will start my 2016 with a little bankroll of ~200$

My poker goals for this year:

[ ] To correctly manage my bankroll;
[ ] To focus on poker theory with more HH review sessions;
[ ] 20k profit;
[ ] Achieve supernova status by the end of the year.

I will start grinding some 0.50 - 1.50$ SNGMTTs and very low stakes MTTs. Once the bankroll will grow, I will move to higher stakes.

I truly believe that posting regularly here on 2p2 will help me to remain focused throughout this personal challenge. I do this mainly to motivate myself. Sharing opinions with all of you will be surely beneficial for me, and hopefully I can give back something to the community with this thread. I will try to post as many hands as possible. Once a week (hopefully on Fridays), I will have an update of the week.

GL everyone and happy 2016!

Thanks all!!!
I have final tabled the 4.40$ prog KO turbo on last year's eve...just after midnight finishing 7th.
That decent result gave me the motivation (and the small bankroll) to begin this challenge! Probably if yesterday I won that tournament, I wouldn't have started this challenge and kept playing random games as I have been doing so far... Instead, I think I will focus more with a starting 200$ bankroll.

I have run pretty awful tonight. I have played almost 200 SNGs (1.50$ 6max hyper super KO) today and some MTTs.

There is this new format of SNG (1.50$ 6max hyper super KO) which could be exploitable to enlarge the bankroll.

1.50$ 6max hyper payout structure:
1) 5.46$
2) 2.94$

1.50$ 6max hyper super KO payout structure:
1) 2.10$ + 0.70$ + 0.70$*No. KOs
2) 2.10$ + 0.70$*No. KOs

In the super KO format, you need at least 4 KOs and win the sng to achieve the same payout (or more) with respect to the freezeout format. Knocking out a ppl, although busting, would make the loss only half of the freezeout format. Perhaps variance can be lower (please correct me if I am wrong).

Big changes on the hyper sats. I do not know if this has been done to avoid mass tabling of grinder dedicated to that format...

My plan is to keep on playing this new sng format reducing the number of tables from 10 to 7 to focus more. On Sunday I will mix MTTSNGs and satellites. I will start a proper review from Monday!
Keep you posted.

Hi all,

I have been playing a few games today with very different outcomes:
- 1.50$ 6max super KO: no way to win a hand, even if starting pre well above;
- I won a few sats for SSMTTs;
- Min cashed in 3/10 SSMTTs;
- Final tabled the 2.75$ finishing 7th and banking $63.97! Obv cooler QQ<AA:

In this earlier hand, Villain (32/28/10.6 over 150 hands) paused a lot before the decisions...
Comments are highly appreciated.

    I am pretty happy with my game although the hyper sng results are horrible! I must analyse the hand history and understand what was wrong.
    I will play some sats for 5.50$ - 22$ MTTs tomorrow and ship them all (and also the target tournament)!

        Hi guys,

        just a brief update about the challenge.

        I have been reading many posts within the forum to refresh the fundamentals of SNGs and try to learn something new. After a yesterday hand review, I noted some gross play in certain spots, which I will try to avoid in the future.

        I have changed the table layout with a maximum number of tables = 6. Although I am more focused, I still need to master such new layout (I often time out).
        Nevertheless, there is still no way to beat 1.50$ 6max hyper turbos super KO (at least for me). It seems that the KOs are sooo appealing, making Villains playing with any garbage.. Surely I make lots of mistakes (any suggestion here?), but the bad beats are just so frequent!
        So far I played 371 of those with awful results!
        During my session today, I have mixed some 3.50$ 6max hyper as well and the results are just opposite. Maybe is just the KO format which does not suit at that level/structure. I must analyse that in deeper details.
        I will try freezeout SNGs in the next day to feel the difference.

        Gl man... i have been mtt's regs for a year comming for being an hypers reg and its more diifcult. More variance, more continuous hours and no flexible schedule. The only point i prefer is the adrenaline in final tables lol

        So the SKO games are only available at 1.50$? Doesn't seem like learning them too deep is very viable if you can't move up to other formats. Maybe it takes some time for more to get implemented, but KO is the hot thing anway, so meh. Maybe they even bring PSKO 9man SNGs.

        01-06-2016 , 10:33 PM
        Yeah, 1.50$ is the only available atm.

        There are some playing 80+% vpip, with an average of 50% vpip. Although an hyper, I think is just too much and, when considering the low buy in, villains never fold! Playing tighter definitely helps...but when you can't win a flip is quite difficult to move up!
        I will keep studying dynamics but, if I don't see any benefit, I will move to the freezeout format, hopefully with more luck!!!

        I have been very focused throughout my session today without distractions (browsing on the internet, random stuff, wife and daughter), trying to figure out in a better way the villains' sort of ranges. On the final table, I think I have made good decisions, like this call for example:

            Hi all,
            pretty swingy day today.
            I bubbled a sat for the warm up, finished 17th on the hotter 4.40$, won a sat for the bigger 109$ (lost target torunament aipr KT vs QJ for my remaining 11BB), and ft the 5.50$ 3k, finishing 6th. Just couldn't get more out of it: I had to call short stack with my AT<AK. I had to fold twice on 16BB and 18BB shove and finally losing aipf 12BB AT<AQ.

            Overall stats for the day:

            Two hands I would like your comments, please.

            First hand: Villain is 24/20/9.1 over 56 hands. He was 3betting light on two previous hands. That is why I have called his 3bet in position. On the turn, is it OK to put Villain on the rail?

              Second hand: 5.50$ final table.
              Villain was playing a bit maniac final two tables and ft.
              I float the flop (which I think can be pretty standard), turn opens sdfd so I bet. Juicy turn. How much shall we bet to extract max value? (I can post result on request after some comments).
