The kid is over twenty days old now so he can take care of himself. Get back to important things like grinding.

Belated congratulations.

Hey Urban Surfer,

first of all I want to says congrats on your little boy
Your story was really interesting to read. It is none of those "19 year old has finished school, dreams of being X but before that he wants to travel arround the world and play poker" threads

And second, but also really important to me, I want to thank you. Now you wonder for what I bet...let me explain:
People like you show me that its possible to win some serious amount of money at poker, even when your RL is really busy. I recently restarted playing poker at NL10 SH zoom after like 4-5 years break (played Nl100 and some NL200 then). Because of my job (some kind of police officer with a special task) I was not sure if I could really make back to the higher limits.
But you.....you got waaaaay less time to spend on poker and you are a reg at NL200+.
You got probably some talent for poker, which I might not have.
But reading your thread really changed my mind: I will make it to NL100, I am confident now. I need to work for it but I will make it

Good luck to you and your family for the future, I will definitly follow this thread

Thanks all for the well wishes. Baby is doing well for the most part. He has an acid reflux issue that is causing him to be a little more fussy than the average baby and also causes him not to sleep more than an hour or two at a time. So needless to say that his mom and I are in full zombie mode.

I've been mainly taking care of our 4 year old (i.e. making all meals, taking him to and from school every day, getting him ready for bed every night) and then still helping out with our newborn.

I have been grinding some (50-60 hours a month) but still not quite to the 80-100 hours per month I was doing before and have only made about 2800 so far this year. My hourly rate is down as well down to the mid twenties. I've noticed myself making too many plays and not completely focused possibly due to sleep deprivation and the stress at work and home leading up to our 2nd baby being born.

Hoping to start a new thread once things are settled at home which might be within the next week or so. We'll see.

Thanks for taking the time to share this. It's responses like these that are the reason why I started this thread. It's rewarding to know that I've impacted even just one person in a positive way as others who have also created PG&C threads have done for me. It's fun to connect with other peeps in an authentic way.

Also, FWIW, positive thinking and confidence are important in poker but are useless if you're not working on the various aspects of your game to improve. Mental/emotional control is definitely a large part of it. But I can think I can play in the NBA all I want but if I never work on my jumpshot, hit the weights, work on ball handling and all the other skills it takes to be a professional basketball player, I'm just setting myself up for a big letdown. So keep that positive thinking and couple it with a lot of hard work / studying / training / coaching and I have no doubt you'll reach those goals.

And another side note, I have a huge amount of respect for those who serve in Law Enforcement and/or Armed Services. I'm in awe of those who have to put up with all the usual rigors that go with working anywhere but also adding in the fact that you're putting your life on the line is incredible. So thank you, sir, for all that you do!

Best of luck and God bless!

You could get a mod to change the title of the thread to We Bought A House rather than creating a new thread. Or you could call it Saving to Buy....The Second Story.

I hope you will spend some of your time writing Congress to argue against RAWA. Yes, it has reared its ugly head again.

So I obviously haven't gotten around to starting the new thread yet. But I do have good news...

Up over 8k this month.

That and you can save up to 15% on insurance by switching to Geico.

105 hours. Finished down my last couple of sessions or would have been up even more. Finished up $7500 for the month.

Stats so far this year. January was definitely impacted by getting ready for the new baby's arrival and then February was getting situated after he did arrive. March was the first month where I was relatively stress free as my wife would get up with him during the nights while I put in hands.
