The Race

So I look forward to the day sometime this year when I'm back in AC, or in Vegas (for my first time, ever... how i've never been there is a mystery). These places have things that STL is lacking, like multiple blind structure games running 24/7...

Here is what I propose (and will likely get at least one person in with me). A race. Goal: in one session (prob 12-15 hours), move from 1/2 to 5/10, with the initial BI back. With the only rule being that after the initial buyin, any more money coming out of the poker roll has to go into a 1/2 table... Has anyone ever tried this before? Would anyone want to join me in AC to try this over the summer?

Note: I'm aware that EV maximizing would be to sit at my preferred limit at the best table for the longest possible, but I've always wanted to try this ever since I was the world's fishiest tourist blowing money into the 1/2 game at Borgata.

I posted in B&M, not BBV4Life

And I've already done that before :P It was called stopping playing, blasting my roll into my life expenses... 10 months later, when I can't handle not playing again... There's that 1/3 table waiting for me. Still populated by the same losing regs.

Re: The Race

HAH I was just messing, the idea actually sounds fun and if I wasn;t already rolled for 5/10 I would consider doing it. But I actually tend to play worse/spewy at the 1/2 tables so I try not to bother. Would be sick to turn a 100 BI at 1/2 into like 5 or 6 grand at the 5/10 in a day lol.

A simple start at 2/5 and move up after double-up, would probably both make more sense and be way easier in terms of discipline/spew. I completely remember the difficulty of staying disciplined at 1/3, against a field of level 1 crappy players, when you can beat 5/10.

However, starting at 1/2 and finishing the day at 5/10 with over a g on the table would be supremely baller, and make me feel better for those couple of -1g days back in 06 when I was the tourist (And esp the Murphy's Law day of -2g @ 1/3 Ballys + 2/5 Borg in 07)

Note, i have had a day in STL when 5/10 was running, that I crushed 1/3 for about 6 hours, took my BI + 1 hundy off the table, and then played 5/10, where I left with a couple g on the table @ 5/10... that was a fun day, and I was running supremely gross.... I had Quads vs a random Q on a Q99ss board 4 handed, for instance He got it all in and said: "I don't have much."

BBV:
Well. At the circuit one day I turned a 500 2/5 BI into a 1050... Moved to 5/10 when 2/5 broke late night... Turned that to 4K...
1/2 is so frigging awful. I feel i'd rather go from 2/5 to 10/20 than 1/2 to 5/10 (and i've played 10/20 once in my life as a super-long-shot)
