Re: Quit my job - Going to travel & play poker

Do you already have money set aside for living expenses for the entire trip?

Poker is just a game subset of the ultimate poker game and that is life- you have a one buy in roll in that one. Skipping uni for you seems hugely -ev.
as much as i hope you have a good time and succeed , i have to agree with this post.

How are you affording to travel to these places? I think you're a little young and under experienced to think you can just not work another day in your life. Travel the world and play poker? That's your big plan? And this is based off your 600 euros of winnings? I can't encourage this and I think you're in for a dose of reality. Call me a pessimist. But good luck op

Re: Quit my job - Going to travel & play poker

I have been saving since I was 7, got a bit tucked away enough to live without working for 2 years, if I get in trouble my dad will help me out. I am doing this mostly to just travel, poker will just be something to supplement my travels and have fun whilst doing it instead of a bar job or the like. Thanks for the support guys and about university I really don't think I need it, I am never going to work for an employee so there is no need to have qualifications. My dad owns two very successful companies and he has no qualifications, all you need is common sense and the willingness to learn and adjust to situations.

@ Rocky I will be making a travel blog don't know if I am allowed to post it here? But it hasn't been started yet I will start it just after my travels begin on the 6th January stay tuned

Fred

Oh I just saw this, and it makes sense now. $200 as a roll to live on while travelling will last all but 3 days.

You said you've saved for 2 years living without working, why don't you be smart and use most of that money for your bankroll, since that's what you're going to be using as the tool to make money for the future.

Put aside 6 months of money for living, not 2 years worth. Use the other 18months of money you have saved for living as a bankroll. Then you can actually do what you said in the thread title.

Otherwise change the title to:
"Follow me going on holiday with my savings for 2 years. If I get short of money will call dad. Might play online poker sometimes for fun."

Sorry but this isn't a poker challenge whatsoever...

Good luck! Bankroll might be a bit small but by the sounds of it you could always transfer some living money into your bankroll as 1aday said.

I could easily deposit more and start playing at higher levels but I don't think that's the best thing to do as I am not the most experienced player. I would rather make my way up so I KNOW I can beat them levels before I go onto harder games. I don't need to change the name of this thread and it is a poker challenge, even If I started playing with $1 it would still be a poker challenge but thanks for your input.

What you you suggest to start with and at what games?

Cheers birdman, I have money to deposit if necessary but would rather work my way up. Don't know if this is the best thing to do but you have to start somewhere.

$200 you wont be able to make any real money from, make it 2000 minimum

This is a much better way to learn imo, to only play games you are rolled for and have a significant edge in.
