July is off to a good start, & my bankroll is growing steadily. My last two sessions are 12.5 & 14.5 hours respectively. During the 12.5 hour session I didn't even want to leave. I compare session stamina to working out - the more you do it, the easier it comes.

Ahem.

Just kidding, man. Good for you! I've noticed that when have exercised within 24hrs of starting a session, I am able to think clearly for much longer. You might want to try that in the future.

On a tear! Chip porn from yesterday. Sometimes I'm just in the mood to have an obnoxious stack I'm such a luckbox. It's safe to say I'm rolled for 100bb buyins at $5/10; I'm a bankroll nit though so I won't play it for the first time until the lineup is soft.
Last 3 sessions I have played 14.5 hours, 12.5 hours, and 8.5 hours. Volume volume volume; hungry hungry hungry

Yes, office jobs are terrible.

That being said, live poker is really truly where its at. Addiction aside I really think a player who plays a consistent game can make money at this

Nice stack.

I think I see Jon Snow over there on the corner of that Wall.

Nice thread - I'm following along. You have the right mindset and plan for success.

One of my favorite things to do after any session over 5 hours, win or lose, is decompressing. I just lost my first session in quite a while & right now I'm briefing over my HH, messaging with a couple girls on tinder, and imagining my life in two months when I move to California. My version of a decompressing cool down varies a slight bit from session to session, but it always entails a review of HH, and something fun that relaxes me.

July is wrapping up, and results are assuredly going to be spectacular this month. Volume slightly down but decent. Life is great on and off the felt and bankroll is growing large 👍😎😊

Good to hear man, any big hands in these sessions you wouldn't mind posting or talking about? Looking forward to more updates.

Good habit to review sessions. I might start doing that. Got plans for LA yet? I'm bouncing back and forth between LA and LV this month on a quest to find the ultimate grind spot. I will be getting a 6mo - year lease in September. Grinder roomates welcome!

Hey man I'm staying in a city a bit north of LA beginning the last week of September through Christmas. Come new year I'll be setting shop in a new spot though, so maybe we can figure something new out soon!

I prefer not talking too much strategy but I'll probably start mixing in a little here & there soon.

Dude, nobody wants to hear your strategy. "Get massive, eat veggies and then book 300bb wins every session." They have threads for that kinda stuff. All I wanna hear about is tinder exploits.

Tinder Leaks

"Tinder Expoits" for you guys - Current #1 life leak I have right now is Tinder. If I do the math, I probably skipped out on 15 hours of poker this month due to excess dating. This equates to about $400 worth spent on dates and leaving $1,150 on the table

-$400 + -$750 ($50x15) = $1,150

Obviously I should still go out and I will, but I need to decrease the dates to 3-4x/month. Continuously trying to improve on leaks like this. Also, I have improved slowly with regards to playing more on the weekends, but not quite where I need to be. With a wedding I am in coming up in two weeks and "Northcoast" EDM concert at the end of the month, my hours at the table this weekend will be very high.

Since someone already requested the occasional HH and since the WSOP was not that long ago, I'll post it here. One that was really fun for me was my 5! Jam with J9

Villain 1 in this hand is a weak tight tourist with a bet sizing tell preflop.
Villain 2 is a straightforward unknown.
Villain 3 is a Laggy aggro young kid.

Prior hand: I was in the BB with A5
Villain 3 wasn't exceptionally positionally aware, but his bet sizing was fairly low preflop with his raise sizing. ($15-20 pre regardless). I saw him open J9ss in MP prior, KTo and prior to this hand I was playing relatively tight. Also, I saw him fold to a 3! prior with little hesitation.

V MP $15, HJ calls, I 3! A5o to $75, V calls, HJ calls.

Pot: $225

Flop 8 7 5

Not a great flop out of position 3 ways, so I decided to give this one up. Anyways they showed down with 89ss, and T9cc. I actually would have rivered an A for the win

Onto the hand: $660 effective
Me: CO
Villain: SB

Villain 1 (Weak tight) opens $15, 1 call, I 3! J9 to $60, Villain 3 4! $160, folds around to me and I jam. Villain folds pretty quickly.

Why did I do this? Well, villain from the prior hand probably understands I can 3! with less than premium pocket pairs, and since I am in the CO and V1 is weak tight, I can do this with a wider range. So, he see's a good window to re-squeeze. I realize he is on that level and J9 is a decent hand to rebluff, so if I'm called, I have o.k. equity. I think my line looks extremely strong so he should be folding the lower part of his value range (TT-JJ, AQ), bluffs, and probably only continue with KK+ and AK/QQ some of the time. I also folded to his $60 3! when I was in the HJ and he was in the BB a few orbits prior to this hand.

To one of the winning mid - high stakes regs in my room who may or may not read this,

Nothing Annoys me more than "solid" grinders like you talking about strategy. Stop talking about range merging at a freakin $2/5 game. You work at one of the softer $2/5 player pools in the country! Just because you feel your dick getting bigger by the minute by using advanced vocabulary doesn't mean you should ruin it for the rest of us. These payoff wizards have been paying your rent/ food for the last year+++.

Do you think they enjoy paying your bills every week? Fish get sick of losing, so when they see you with a winning stack / image regularly they will begin to open their ears to figure out your "secrets" and strategy formula. STOP WITH THE STRATEGY TALK, you know who you are.

Lastly, quick acting like a dbag occasionally. Be nice and courteous to others. In fact, these fish have extra disposable income, so while they may or may not understand any intermediate strategy, they're probably successful enough to afford gambling, and probably more successful than you at this point in your life.

Sincerely,

Pay
