I wonder if I'm in the minority here that generally skips all the threadsavers (except yours because I really enjoy the beer ideas).

Well, I was going to take my shot once I hit $200 on my Carbon account seeing how I have about $68 on my Aced. However, after tonight's MTT's, the roll is sitting at ~$243, so $10nl here I come!!!!

To Be Continued....

Yeah, I like that you don't have scantily clad women throughout your thread. I'm not a fan of just posting pictures of tits everywhere either (I did tunesavers rather than beer though ).

Thanks for following along man!

So, was raining this morning so didn't get to head out to the links. Probably a good thing anyway seeing how I would have only got 4 hours of sleep. Instead, I was able to get a few more hours of shut eye, woke up and went to the driving range. Also, traded in my old Cleveland wedge and bought my last Titleist Vokey wedge (60 degree). The Mrs. will probably learn soon enough that it's not a good idea to let me go off to places like the golf store, Best Buy, etc alone. I'll always come back with a new toy.

After that, came home and put in about 200 hands of $10nl and won a buck. Felt fine and good to be moving up. Now, off to the interview. Hope it goes well otherwise it'll be a long/frustrating drive back to Chicago!

Had a really great one last night, but forgot to take a pic and jot the name down. Tried looking up the bar's beer list, but it's already changed/different from the one I saw last night. Oh wells.

Not sure if you can get it in the USA, but try Great Heck's Citra if you have a chance.

Never heard of it, but I'll check it out. Currently sittin on the deck, checkin out the ocean here in Charleston, SC! Put in a few hands this morning and won a few bucks. Roll at $301 on carbon and $153 on Aced. Gonna combine them once I get off vacay!

Now time to drink some more beers!

Back from vacation and exhausted. Just wanted to come give the thread a little bump seeing how I've been gone for a while. Combined the rolls today and put in a few MTT's and cash hands. Currently, sittin at about $445. Gonna call it a night and hit some hay. Hope y'all have had a great week and been crushin!

Now that I've had a chance to kick back, relax and catch up on my sleep, I wanted to come on here and post a better update. Overall, SC was great! Couldn't have come at a better time with the stress of the big move piling high. Didn't get to see everyone, but was a perfect week none the less with nothing but solid drinking with friends, warm weather and golf Thursday through Saturday. Finally got to test out all the new sticks, and for the first three rounds of the year, I'll take a 83, 86 and a 82!

As for brews, it was mostly Bud Light, Miller Lite and Coors Light, but was able to sneak in a few craft beers as well. Here's a few that I was able to sample...

Spoiler:

Palmetto Pale Ale. I remember this brewer from my days living in Charleston, but wasn't quite yet into the craft beer scene then as I am now. This time around, this was the first beer I had to kick off the vacation! However, it was the only time I had it all week. Just nothing super exciting. Was it worth the $4.75? Of course. Would I buy a 6 pack to drink on a 95 degree day? Probably. Just wouldn't pay a ton or race out to buy it and would probably choose something else if I had the option, but still was a decent hoppy pale ale.

Sweet Water IPA. My buddy brought over a couple of 12 packs of this stuff to sip on around the house. I have to say, I was impressed. Was a fairly light bodied IPA that had a monster citrus punch. Was full of tangerine, grapefruit and orange flavors...just my style when it comes to IPA's. We don't have this one up here in Chicago (or at least haven't found it), but if you have it where you're at, pick this up...delicious!

Anderson Valley Heelch O'Hops. this one I actually had last night while waiting for our to-go order. What can I say? I'm a sucker for $6 pints with a 9% ABV. Had actually never heard of this brewer up until last night and overall, the flavors are well balanced but I think the hops win out. The hop flavors is evidenced by a lemon, apricot, honey and pine flavor. This is a great DIPA that may not set itself over the BA Top 250, but is certainly worth the purchase.

Now as for the poker, things are still moving in the right direction. Currently, roll sits at around $475 I think? Didn't really have a chance to play any during vacation, but have played quite a bit since getting back on Sunday. At least quite a bit for me. Here's a graph of the last two days at $10nl.

Clearly been runnin pretty good, but feel like I've been playing well also. As for MTT's, bricked pretty much everything under the sun on Sunday. Ran deep in a $2.20 last night making the final table, but busted 8th after coming in 2nd. Hate when that happens, but I'll still take it. I really wish there were more playable MTT's on Merge as I really seem to be playing well in them. Oh well, I'll just keep grinding cash and playing the occasional MTT.

Finally, just wanted to send this update off with a little tune. Really diggin/ the new Beck album and super stoked to be seeing him perform next month...until next time y'all!

So, since my last post, I've decided it's a good idea to drop a few buy-ins. Currently sitting at ~$442, so still goin' good. However, really contemplating focusing primarily on MTT's. With my roll, I can play anything up to $2.20's and $1.10r's. Really want to stick to at least 100 buy-ins, but there just aren't a ton of MTT's running in my ABI range.

Oh well, guess I'll figure it out when I get home. Gonna pick up some beers that have already been posted ITT. Wondering what everyone's drinkin out there (if you're still following along)

Half day from work today so I decided to try and up the MTTs as opposed to grinding cash. Needless to say, it didn't go too well as I went 0 for 11 in cashing. Had a big stack going in the $2.20 PLO OPS event when the gf called and wanted me to meet her out at the bar. By the time we got home, I was down to about 5 big blinds and busted shortly thereafter. Looked at my account balance and noticed I had dropped $30 in $1.10 and $2.20 buy-ins. Solid. It was then that I hopped back onto the cash tables and things quickly turned around...

Clearly ran hot EV wise, but to my credit, I had KK get there vs AA twice and QQ vs KK another time. Also, when you have hands like this, it's easy to see where these six buy-ins came from...

Merge - $0.10 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (MP): $20.13
CO: $33.34 (VPIP: 46.15, PFR: 3.85, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 54)

SB: $9.42 (VPIP: 17.91, PFR: 12.80, 3Bet Preflop: 4.93, Hands: 3,086)
BB: $10.49 (VPIP: 25.27, PFR: 20.54, 3Bet Preflop: 14.29, Hands: 192)
UTG: $13.25 (VPIP: 20.43, PFR: 10.00, 3Bet Preflop: 5.52, Hands: 937)

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.15) Hero has Q Q

Flop: ($2.35, 2 players) 9 Q T
Hero checks, CO bets $0.80, Hero raises to $2.40, CO raises to $32.24 and is all-in, Hero calls $16.63 and is all-in

Turn: ($40.41, 2 players) 9

River: ($40.41, 2 players) 2

CO shows Q A (Two Pair, Queens and Nines) (Pre 34%, Flop 6%, Turn 0%)
Hero wins $38.17

Then, while grinding after the bar, I swung by and picked up these to past the time...

Spoiler:

Rogue Brutal IPA. This was the first beer OTHER than Dead Guy Ale that I've had from Rogue. Dead Guy Ale used to be one of my absolute favs before the taste buds switched over to the hoppy IPA's, PA's, etc. Looks wise, Brutal is a nice orange color with a thin head and was slightly hazy which threw me off. Smell wise, nothing much stood out. Was very mellow and pretty balanced. The taste equaled the aroma, again, not too much there. It was good, just not super potent like a lot of the IPA's out there.

Firestone Pale 31. I have been on the lookout for Parabola here in Chicago, but I've since given up hope. Instead, I decided to pick this up. I wasn't impressed at all with their holiday brew that I posted earlier in the thread, but regardless, Firestone always puts out quality beers. This pale ale wasn't as hoppy as some of the other good ones that I've had lately, but still decent. Color wise, this pours a light yellow with a thin head that still clings to the glass. Best way to describe it would be gritty bitterness with a floral touch. Has nice citrusy notes of lemon and faint pine. Appropriate lighter feel and ease for drinking. Solid and fresh.

That's all I got. Roll sits at $521.80. Only around $100 to go before taking the $25nl shot! Now, off to bed!

Weekend's complete! Didn't play THAT much as had some RL stuff that needed to be done. Did put in a few hands Saturday, finishing up about $13 for the day after cash and a few MTT's. Nothing too exciting. Yesterday I didn't play at all which bummed me out being Sunday, but had to go check out a few wedding venues and then relaxed and watched the Blackhawks game last night. Good thing about checking out the reception venues, was that I got to do a little beer tasting!

Spoiler:

Not going to name them all, but the one venue that we checked out only had a limited beer list which obviously wasn't going to work for me. So the guy was super cool and said they would be willing to add some good craft beers to the mix if I wanted. He said his buddy owned a small batch craft brewery just outside of town and that they would have no problem putting something on tap if I wanted. Of course, I had to drive out there right away to sample. The brewer is called Bare Hands and the bartender was super cool in hooking us up with a free flight of all they beers they had on tap. Was super impressed and decided on one for sure...

Mail Order Bride Imperial Stout. Not only was this beer AMAZING (one of the biggest chocolate/coffee flavored stouts I've come across), but we loved the name for a wedding reception. So, I'm going to put this on tap, but I'll need to figure out one more before hand. I just didn't imagine having a stout as the craft beer, so I'll be adding an IPA or saison to the mix for a little lighter variety. Guess I just have to figure out what their distributor can get their hands on.

Finally, had this one Saturday night...

Revolution Coup D'Etat Saison Ale. Ran out of Daisy Cutter while grinding during the afternoon and needed to keep things going so picked this up for the night cap. Color was obviously a honey colored yellow and hazy. Hardly any type of head and minimal lacing (obviously I jacked up the pour) . Was pretty medium bodied and the smell was that of citrus, apricot and hops. I wish it tasted more like it smells. It's not bad, just missing the saison funk and overly hopped. Probably won't have it again. Disappointing too as it was 80 degrees here in Chicago Saturday and all I wanted was a nice, light summery type of beer, but wasn't a "summer ale".

Anyway, gonna look to put in some hands tonight I think after work to try and get a little closer to that $25nl shot. Hopefully, I'll be there by month's end. I'm typically not one to put monetary goals on myself, but I'm just soooooo close. I'll also post a weekend graph once I get home/later tonight when I get access to my database.

Hope y'all had a a great weekend!!

Sorry to anyone out there still readin. Haven't posted in the last 3 days or so due to a lot of RL **** gettin in the way. Just pulled up my database and I've only put in about 1100 hands since my last update and have been pretty meh at best...

As for the bankroll, still sitting around $575 so still need to get those last 5 buy-ins before taking my shot. Don't know how much I'll get to play this weekend as there's a **** ton of packing that needs to be done and we have some fam coming in town that want to hit up some dinner tomorrow night and the horses on Sunday. Should be a good time, but would love to be able to grind that last day of OPS. Oh well, is what it is.

As for beer, I've actually only had ONE (minus a couple Coors lights last night) since Tuesday...honestly, kinda unheard of for me...

Spoiler:

Firestone Double Jack DIPA. This is damn near perfection in a glass. Pours a clear golden color with a decent white head. Aromas are very complex, encompassing everything from tropical fruit to floral to grassy to caramel to honey. Taste is sweet and caramel-like upfront, with a good amount of yeast and florals here and there. This beer is a seriously happenin' one so pick it up if ya see it out there!

Finally, wanted to post a few pics of the HOUSE!!! We officially closed yesterday and went over to have some pizza/beers with some of the fam to celebrate. Pics aren't great, but gives ya a pretty good idea. I'll try and post some more once we actually move in and get **** organized...

Had some others, but for some reason they aren't coming through. Oh well, guess I should just get back to work.

Happy Friday everyone!!!

Also, I've only ever managed to get my hands on one double IPA because it's not a very popular style here but I loved it, so I'm jealous of that one.
