boom-shizzle!!! huge news regarding FTP!!! so fkn pumped - i just shipped a +50bi day without even playing a hand of poker

as to poker, july was (like every month this year essentially) a pretty big flop. i don't think i even ran all that terribly in all-in spots tbh - just ran bad in non-ev spots and played pretty averagely. at least winning>losing i guess. not too happy with this month's play, but gonna crank up my concentration for the rest of the year. i have to at least break-even right???

this year has made me realise how hard it is to make a living from poker. all of a sudden as the year started i had no income and only had to rely on poker. well, what a disaster that has been. made me thankful for having savings and appreciate how tough this game can be to pros.

went and played some 1/2 live for the first time in a while last night at the star. was very profitable - got up exactly +500. people are so so bad.

made a good calldown for a big pot with ATdd on AK6ccdJd3x vs. some gambool asian dude who barreled 3 streets with J9cc. won alot of middle sized pots, until i won a big pot off some guy with A8>88 on A83A7ccc. really annoyed that i didn't win more tho - dude opr in MP for $10, gets 2 callers, i call BB. i c/c $35 otf, turn comes off and he checks behind (so bad). river completes the FD from the flop, so i tank a bit and decide to overbet it to $130. he snaps and i ship a nice pot.

in hindsight i think i should c/r river big. he's probably gonna always b/c a flush there (i thought that was way more likely than a boat) and to a lolliver player my hand can look super weak prompting him to bet wide. i could also consider donking turn and then bombing river, but leading that turn just gets too many folds from all his non-nut hands and pretty much flips me face-up as at least Ax. i'm kind of unsure what the best line to take is to try and stack him. he was probably just under $400 deep and i covered so stacking him is probably unlikely, but winning >$200 off him is a definite posibility.

pretty happy with how it all went - kinda funny that after a couple of hrs work at the casino i've made more money live than online this year. maybe i should play more often...

august so far - been a little rough but can't complain bitterly. had to fold alot of big hands and alot of bluffs have been called down, but hoping to continue winning.
